It was recorded live at the Oberhaus in Alzey, Germany, on May 4, 1990. Scream is an American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C.; they originally formed in the suburb of Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia. Scream originally formed in 1981 within the vanguard of the Washington Hardcore explosion. In 2009, the band reunited, and were on tour in Europe. As of 2017, the band was still touring in both America and the United Kingdom. Biography Scream was formed in Northern Virginia in 1981 by singer Pete Stahl, his brother Franz Stahl on guitar, bassist Skeeter Thompson, and Kent Stax, who replaced original drummer Steve Atton shortly after the band formed. Scream emerged at the tail end of the first wave of Washington, D.C. hardcore and would go on to outlast many of their fellow bands from D.C.’s early hardcore punk scene. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. Your Choice Records was a German independent record label that was founded in 1988 by producer Tobby Holzinger. No More Censorship
''No More Censorship'' is the fourth studio album by American hardcore punk band Scream released in 1988 through RAS Records (RAS 4001). It is the first Scream album to feature Dave Grohl on drums, who went to be a part of many successful bands, most notably Nirvana and Foo Fighters. ''No More Censorship'' was notably the first album by the band to be released by reggae label RAS Records, at the time RAS was attempting to dive into a rock market. The label brought Scream on board to attract other burgeoning rock acts. In 2009, there were reports that Dave Grohl was interested in re-mixing the album for re-release. A reissue of the album, subtitled "NMC17", was released for Record Store Day/black Friday in 2017 by Southern Lord Recordings featuring a new mix overseen by guitarist Franz Stahl, an augmented track list, and all new artwork. ''Fumble'' is the fifth studio album by American hardcore band Scream. It was recorded in December 1989 at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia, and released in July 1993 through Dischord. It is notable for showcasing the band's expansion in style, towards a more post-hardcore sound. Dave Grohl played drums on the album. He took a lead vocal on one track and helped to write others. Critical reception ''Newsday'' praised Grohl's drumming on the album, writing that it "has that baseball-bats-against-tree-trunks quality that ewould make so distinctive in Nirvana." Peter Marc Stahl is an American musician best known for fronting the Virginia-based punk/hardcore band Scream with his brother Franz. Early on, Scream also featured Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on drums who credited Pete Stahl as the inspiration for the song "My Hero" for his tutelage. Stahl later went on to form Wool with his brother in the 1990s, and also has sung for Goatsnake and Earthlings?. Franz Stahl
Franz Kenneth Stahl (born October 30, 1961) is an American guitarist, best known for being a member of both the Washington, D.C. hardcore punk band Scream with his brother Pete Stahl, and the alternative rock band Foo Fighters. Life and career Franz and his brother Pete were raised in Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia, which they reference by putting the letters "BXR" in Scream's albums. Their father, Arnold, was a lawyer and also managed the DC rock band The Hangmen, who scored a regional hit with 1965's "What a Girl Can't Do". After learning guitar, Franz started playing in local Virginian bands with bassist Skeeter Thompson. In 1981, Franz and Thompson formed Scream in Alexandria, along with Pete and drummer Kent Stax. Enoch "Skeeter" Thompson is an American musician, best known for being the bassist of the DC hardcore band Scream. After their initial breakup, Thompson moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, to raise his family.
