Your Call (song)
''Your Call'' is a call-in radio talk show program produced by KALW hosted by Rose Aguilar in San Francisco, California. ''Your Call'' features in-depth dialogue and debate on politics, culture, poverty, and the environment. The format of ''Your Call'' varies from show to show, but generally involves an in-person interview with one or more subjects, including nationally prominent authors, scholars and grassroots activists. The program airs from 10-11am Pacific Time on weekday mornings. The show launched the week of September 11, 2001 with Laura Flanders hosting from New York. When Laura started with Air America in 2004, Farai Chideya split hosting duties, before taking over full-time. ''News & Notes'' was a National Public Radio program focusing on issues affecting African-Americans and African diaspora communities. The listenership was multiracial and international. The program aired for one hour each weekday and was hosted by Ed Gordon from 2005 to 2006, by Farai Chideya until January 16, 2009, and then by Tony Cox until its final broadcast on March 20, 2009. Chideya is known for her television commentary and books on race. While at ''News and Notes'', she and the teams she worked with won awards from the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association, among others. WETA (90.9 FM) is a non-commercial, public FM radio station licensed to serve Washington, D.C., broadcasting a classical music format. Its studios are located in Arlington, Virginia and its broadcast tower is located near Arlington at (). WETA is a grandfathered “superpower” station. The station covers the Washington metropolitan area with the highest analog effective radiated power (ERP) of any FM station in the market with 75,000 watts. Farai Chideya (; born July 27, 1969, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States) is an American novelist, multimedia journalist, and radio host. She produced and hosted ''Pop and Politics with Farai Chideya'', a series of radio specials on politics for 15 years. She is the creator and host of the podcast ''Our Body Politic'', which launched in September 2020. Secondhand Serenade is an American rock band, led by vocalist, pianist and guitarist John Vesely. Vesely has released four studio albums to date under the name Secondhand Serenade. Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an American radio network specializing in progressive talk radio. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010. The network was founded as a left wing alternative to counter talk radio with a right wing perspective. Air America featured programs with monologues by on-air personalities, guest interviews, call-ins from listeners, and news reports.
