Young Scot Awards
The Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards or Young Scot Awards is an annual award ceremony hosted by Young Scot and Sunday Mail to honour young people in Scotland for considerable achievements and positive contributions to charity or their community. The first ceremony was held in 2006, and was hosted by Andrea McLean. Between 2015 and 2017, the awards were hosted by Edith Bowman. In 2018, the event was hosted by Iain Stirling at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. No event was held in 2019 and the 2020 event was hosted by Gemma Cairney online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Capital FM Scotland DJ Katy J will host the 2023 event at Platform in Glasgow. Annual ceremony The ceremony is annually attended by celebrities and prominent politicians, who will present awards or perform. Young Scot
Young Scot is a national information and citizenship organisation supported by the Scottish Government for young people aged 11–25 in Scotland. The declared aim of the organisation is to make young people informed, incentivised and active citizens through the information they provide. Young Scot also provides opportunities for young people across Scotland in order to help develop their educational and professional development. One example of this would be the Youth Commission on Alcohol. The organisation issues the Young Scot National Entitlement Card to young people aged 11–25. This provides cardholders with discounts for goods and services across Scotland and certain European countries. The card also allows free bus travel for under-22s. As well as being part of the National Entitlement Card Programme that runs in Scotland it is also a proof of age card accredited by the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) scheme which applies across the United Kingdom. Ashley And Pudsey
Ashleigh and Pudsey was a British dog trick act, comprising trainer Ashleigh Jade Butler (born 7 February 1995) and Pudsey (28 December 2005 – 20 July 2017), a male Border Collie, Bichon Frise, and Chinese Crested powderpuff cross. They achieved prominence as contestants in the sixth series of the television talent show ''Britain's Got Talent'', which they won on 12 May 2012, becoming the first dog trick act to win the competition. On 21 July 2017, Butler announced that Pudsey had died. Following his death, Butler said that her other trained dog, Sully, would take over future events but would "never become Pudsey”. Paul Brannigan
Paul Brannigan (born 14 September 1986) is a Scottish actor best known for his roles as Gareth O'Connor in Scottish soap opera ''River City'' and as Robbie in the film ''The Angels' Share'' (2012). Lewis MacDougall
Lewis John Moir MacDougall (born 5 June 2002) is a Scottish film actor. He made his film debut in the fantasy film '' Pan'' (2015). He subsequently starred in the fantasy tragedy film ''A Monster Calls'' (2016), and the road trip drama film '' Boundaries'' (2018) and The belly of the whale (2018), and it premierd in december that year. Nina Nesbitt (born ) is a Scottish singer and songwriter. She has two top 40 singles, and is known for her single "Stay Out", which peaked at No. 21 on the UK Singles Chart in April 2013. Her first EP, ''The Apple Tree'', was released in April 2012 and peaked at No. 6 on the iTunes download charts after receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1, and also peaked at the top of the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. Nicholas "Nicky" McDonald (born 23 November 1996) is a Scottish singer. He was the runner-up of the tenth series of ''The X Factor'' in 2013. River City
''River City'' is a Scottish television soap opera that was first broadcast on BBC One Scotland on 24 September 2002. ''River City'' follows the lives of the people who live and work in the fictional district of Shieldinch. In November 2017, a short crossover episode of the show was made for '' Children in Need'' and featured several of the show's characters meeting characters from Scottish sitcom ''Scot Squad''.
