Young People (1972 Film)
''Young People'' is a 1972 Hong Kong coming-of-age action drama film directed by Chang Cheh and starring David Chiang, Ti Lung, Chen Kuan-tai, Irene Chan and pop singer Agnes Chan, the younger sister of Irene Chan, in her debut film role. Plot Martial arts club member Ho Tai's (Chen Kuan-tai) girlfriend Princess (Irene Chan) is the school babe, who also attracts the pursuit by star athlete Lam Tat (Ti Lung). Lam always ridicules Ho and they develop a bad relation. On the other hand, music club leader Hung Wai (David Chiang), who came from a family of martial arts, teaches martial arts to his club members to raise their spirits. Because of Princess, Lam got into a fight with Ho during jogging practice and Hung came to break up the fight. The two finally buried their hatchet. During the school's cart racing competition, Lam and Ho, out of gratitude for Hung, helped him win the championship. Chang Cheh
Chang Cheh (; 10 February 1923 – 22 June 2002) was a Chinese people, Chinese filmmaker, screenwriter, lyricist and producer active in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Chang Cheh directed more than 90 films in Greater China, the majority of them with the Shaw Brothers Studio in Hong Kong. Most of his films are action films, especially ''wuxia'' and ''kung fu'' films filled with violence. In the early 1970s he frequently cast actors David Chiang and Ti Lung in his films. In the late 1970s he mainly worked with a group of actors known as the Venom Mob. Chang Cheh is also known for his long-time collaboration with writer Ni Kuang. Benz Hui
Benz Hui Shiu-hung (born 4 November 1948) is a Hong Kong film and TV actor. Hui is credited with over 165 films. Hui is a currently a TV actor with TVB. Early life and family Hui comes from an influential family in Canton. His great-grandfather was a godson of Empress Dowager Cixi and served as an imperial official during the late Qing dynasty. Hui's great-aunt, Xu Guangping (Cantonese: Hui Kwong-ping), was married to the writer Lu Xun. His granduncle Xu Chongzhi (Cantonese: Hui Chung-chi) was a founder of the Whampoa Military Academy, while his other granduncle Xu Chongqing (Cantonese: Hui Chung-ching) once served as an education minister of Canton. Kung fu film () is a subgenre of martial arts films and Hong Kong action cinema set in the contemporary period and featuring realistic martial arts.
