Young Marx (play)
''Young Marx'' is a play by Richard Bean and Clive Coleman about the early life of Karl Marx. It was the opening production at the Bridge Theatre in London (residency of the London Theatre Company), a new commercial theatre founded by previous National Theatre artistic director Nicholas Hytner and executive director Nick Starr. The production opened the theatre on Friday 27 October 2017, following previews from Wednesday 18 October, and ran until Sunday 31 December 2017. The production was also broadcast through National Theatre Live in December. The production starred Rory Kinnear in the title role and Oliver Chris as Friedrich Engels and reunited the creative team of Bean's previous hit play ''One Man Two Guvnors'' (which premiered at the National Theatre), directed by Hytner, designed by Mark Thompson, music by Grant Olding, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Arditti Paul Arditti is a British sound designer, working mainly in the UK and the US. Richard Bean
Richard Anthony Bean (born 11 June 1956) is an English playwright. Early years Born in East Hull, Bean was educated at Hull Grammar School, and then studied social psychology at Loughborough University, graduating with a 2:1 BSc Hons. He then worked as an occupational psychologist, having previously worked in a bread plant for a year and a half after leaving school. Between 1989 and 1994, Bean also worked as a comedian and went on to be one of the writers and performers of the sketch show ''Control Group Six'' (BBC Radio) which was nominated for a Writers Guild Award. Theatre career In 1995 he wrote the libretto for Stephen McNeff's opera ''Paradise of Fools'', which premiered at the Unicorn Theatre. His first full-length play, ''Of Rats and Men'', set in a psychology lab, was staged at the Canal Cafe Theatre in 1996 and went on to the Edinburgh Festival. Nancy Carroll (British Actress)
Nancy Carroll (born 1974) is a British actress. She has worked extensively in theatre productions, particularly with the Royal Shakespeare Company. She also has numerous film and television credits, including a long-running feature role as Lady Felicia in the BBC series ''Father Brown''. Early life and education Nancy Carroll grew up in Herne Hill in south London and attended Alleyn's School where she was an enthusiastic participant in student theatre. Before training in theatre, she worked at a hat shop in Lavender Hill. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, from which she graduated in June 1998. William Troughton
William Troughton (born 1984) is a British actor. Career Since 2014 he has played the part of Tom Archer in the long-running BBC Radio 4 programme ''The Archers''. His father David Troughton plays Tom's father Tony Archer. Emmanuel Barthélemy (1823–1855) was a French revolutionary and a member of secret Blanquist societies during the reign of Louis-Phillipe, the citizen king of France in the July monarchy from 1830 until 1848. He fled to London in 1850. He is remembered for being the winner of the last fatal duel in England, fought in 1852 with another French exile.
