Young Drama Cup
The was a professional wrestling round-robin tournament held by DDT Pro-Wrestling to promote their younger talents. Only two editions were held, in 2009 and 2010. The tournament was held under a points system, with 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. Contestants fought in a single block with the best two scoring contestants advancing to a final match. The 2009 edition was won by Keisuke Ishii, and the 2010 edition was won by Soma Takao. DDT Pro-Wrestling
is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion based in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Its name stands for Dramatic Dream Team, which was the promotion's official name from 1997 to 2004. Founded in March 1997 by Shintaro Muto, the promotion was eventually bought and managed by Shoichi Ichimiya until December 2005, when Sanshiro Takagi took over as the new president. Keisuke Ishii
is a Japanese professional wrestler trained by and signed to DDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT). Ishii also competes for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he is a former World Junior Heavyweight Champion. __NOTOC__ The is an infrequent professional wrestling tournament promoted by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) as a means of showcasing the younger talent on their roster. The tournament is the successor to the Karl Gotch Cup that NJPW promoted in the 1970s. NJPW has held the tournament eleven times since 1985. After the 2005 tournament, NJPW did not hold another Young Lion Cup for 12 years, until reviving the tournament in 2017 and again in 2019. The Young Lion Cup is a round-robin tournament in the same style as NJPW's annual G1 Climax tournament.
