''You Were Never Alone'' is the sixth studio album by the American rock band Emery, released on May 19, 2015. It is the first album to be released through band's own independent label BadChristian and Rude Records. Recording, release and promotion In March 2014, the band released a demo of two new songs. The album was funded via IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign and was set to be released in mid-2014 but the release date was later pushed back. In addition to the album, the band was also going to release a music video, a re-recorded version of song "Anne Marie" and an acoustic EP/LP due to the achievement of the "stretch goals" during the crowdfunding project. Starting with the March 23, 2015 episode of the ''Break It Down podcast with Matt Carter'', Matt Carter, the host of the show and the lead guitarist of Emery, along with guest Toby Morrell, the lead singer of Emery, began a 12 episode series to premier one song from the album for each episode. Emery (band)
Emery is an American post-hardcore band formed in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in 2001 by Toby Morrell, Devin Shelton, Matt Carter, Josh Head, Joel Green, and Seth Studley. The band relocated to Seattle in order to reach a more music-centered scene. Before signing with Tooth & Nail Records, Emery recorded two EPs, ''The Columbus EEP Thee'' and ''The Weak's End'' demo that they used to attract attention from labels. With Tooth & Nail, they recorded five studio albums and two EPs. '' The Weak's End'', their debut album, was released in 2004, followed by '' The Question'' in 2005 and '' I'm Only a Man'' in 2007. Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Aaron Sprinkle
Aaron Sprinkle (born March 20, 1974) is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Seattle, Washington. Career His career in music began in high school with a group called BellBangVilla. BellBangVilla became Poor Old Lu and they released a number of albums (see below). Aaron Sprinkle also sang and played lead guitar in Rose Blossom Punch, and has produced albums independently. On his solo releases, he plays almost all instruments except drums. He produced dozens of records for Tooth & Nail Records between 1993 and 2016. In 2005, Sprinkle formed the band Fair with Joey Sanchez, Nick Barber, and Erick Newbill. Fair released its debut album '' The Best Worst-Case Scenario'' on Tooth & Nail Records in June 2006. ''We Do What We Want'' is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Emery. The album was released on March 29, 2011 through Tooth & Nail Records and Solid State Records. Shortly after announcing the release of ''We Do What We Want'', founding bassist Devin Shelton announced he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from Emery. Writing Emery was in the process of working on more stripped-down acoustic album when guitarist/vocalist Devin Shelton decided to take an indefinite leave of absence from the group. After his departure, the remaining four members made the conscious decision to write a heavier and more hardcore album than they had done in the past. Commenting on the band's evolved sound, bassist/vocalist Toby Morrell said, "I don't think we ever thought we'd get as heavy as we are now, but I'm glad we have." ''Eve'' is the seventh studio album by American post-hardcore band Emery. The album was released on November 9, 2018, through the band's own label, BadChristian Music. Background Emery launched an Indiegogo campaign on March 17, 2017, for the band's seventh studio album. The campaign had a finance goal of $50,000 and was met after just 36 hours. Backers were given an instant download of the ''Emery: Classics Reimagined EP'', which features re-recorded versions of "So Cold I Can See My Breath", "As Your Voice Fades", and "The Smile, The Face". Controversy The cover art, which features a naked woman with a bag over her head, caused some controversy due to the woman's buttocks being exposed.
