The Courteeners
Courteeners are an English band formed in Middleton in 2006 by Liam Fray (lead guitar/vocals), Michael Campbell (drums/backing vocals), Daniel "Conan" Moores (rhythm guitar) and Mark Cuppello (bass); the latter was replaced by the band's producer Joe Cross in 2015. They previously toured with pianist Adam Payne, who has been featured on every album, but in 2019 was replaced with Elina Lin. In December 2012, the band dropped "The" from their name, continuing simply as "Courteeners". They have released six studio albums: '' St. Jude'' (2008), ''Falcon'' (2010), '' Anna'' (2013), '' Concrete Love'' (2014), '' Mapping the Rendezvous'' (2016) and '' More. Again. Forever.'' (2020). Falcon (album)
''Falcon'' is the second studio album by English rock band the Courteeners. It was released through A&M Records on 22 February 2010. While touring the United States in 2009 as part of promotion for their debut studio album '' St. Jude'' (2008), the band wrote new material on their tour bus. In August 2009, the band recorded its follow-up with Ed Buller at ICP studios in Brussels, Belgium. ''Falcon'' has an arena and indie rock sound, influenced in part by the work of Elbow, and is slower-paced than their previous album. Before the end of 2009, the Courteeners played two shows in the United Kingdom. "You Overdid It Doll" was released as the lead single from ''Falcon'' in February 2010, which was then promoted with a tour of the UK the following month. Liam James Fray (born 15 May 1985) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and lyricist, best known as the founder and frontman of Manchester-based indie rock band Courteeners, which was formed in 2006. Fray hails from Middleton, Greater Manchester and he references his hometown in multiple songs. Edmund Wilbur Hudson "Ed" Buller (born 9 August 1962 in Reigate, Surrey) is an English record producer and former musician. He has primarily worked with English bands including Suede, Pulp, The Raincoats and The Courteeners. Biography Buller first became interested in music after his father, composer John Buller, took him to see Stravinsky's ballet, ''The Rite of Spring'', at the age of 6. As a teenager, he joined The Psychedelic Furs as a keyboard player and toured with them for several years. After leaving the band, he took up record production, moving his way up through London studios and eventually became the in-house engineer for Island Records.
