''You Don't Look 40, Charlie Brown'', the first ''Peanuts'' television special of the 1990s, is one of many prime-time animated TV specials, based on characters from the Charles M. Schulz comic strip ''Peanuts''. It originally aired on the CBS network on February 2, 1990, An International Groundhog Day Tradition. Hosted by '' Knots Landing'' star Michele Lee, this special includes a reunion of the many actors and actresses who voiced the ''Peanuts'' characters from 1963 to 1989. Also included are a special guest appearance of Lee herself. The special also has three music videos to promote the album ''Happy Anniversary, Charlie Brown'' including "Little Birdie" by Joe Williams, "Linus and Lucy" by David Benoit and "Joe Cool" by B.B. King. The special was released on VHS through Paramount Home Video. Michele Lee
Michele Lee is an American actress, singer, dancer, producer, and director. She is known for her role as Karen Fairgate MacKenzie on the prime-time soap opera ''Knots Landing'' (1979–1993), for which she was nominated for a 1982 Emmy Award and won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Actress in 1988, 1991, and 1992. She was the only performer to appear in all 344 episodes of the series. Lee began her career on Broadway in ''Vintage 60'' (1960) and ''How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying'' (1961). She made her movie debut in the film version of the latter in 1967. Her other film appearances include the Disney film ''The Love Bug'' (1968), ''The Comic'' (1969), and '' Along Came Polly'' (2004). Chad Allen (born June 5, 1974) is an American psychologist and retired actor. Beginning his career at the age of seven, Allen is a three-time Young Artist Award winner and GLAAD Media Award honoree. He was a teen idol during the late 1980s as David Witherspoon on the NBC family drama '' Our House'' and as Zach Nichols on the NBC sitcom ''My Two Dads'' before transitioning to an adult career as Matthew Cooper on the CBS western drama '' Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman''. José Cuauhtémoc "Bill" Melendez (November 15, 1916 – September 2, 2008) was an American character animator, voice actor, film director and producer. Melendez is known for working on the Peanuts animated specials, ''Peanuts'' animated specials. Before ''Peanuts'', he previously worked as an animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Productions, Warner Bros. Cartoons, and United Productions of America, UPA. Peter Robbins (born Louis G. Nanasi; August 10, 1956 – January 18, 2022) was an American actor. He gained national fame in the 1960s as being the first actor to voice Charlie Brown in the Peanuts animated specials, ''Peanuts'' animated specials.
