"You Belong to Me" is a song by British dance DJ Jake Williams, performed under the name JX. Featuring vocals from English singer Shèna, it was released in March 1995 as a single and reached number 17 in the United Kingdom, number one in Spain, and number 15 in the Netherlands and Ireland. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the single peaked at number 25. Outside Europe, "You Belong to Me" peaked at number four in Australia. A black-and-white music video was made to accompany the song. Jake Williams
Jake Williams (born 1974) is a British electronic music producer and remixer, who currently records as Rex the Dog. Rex the Dog currently releases on Kompakt Records. As Rex the Dog, Williams is a proponent of DIY electronics and performs live with a self-built modular synthesizer. Williams first came to public attention as JX in 1994 following a recording contract with Hooj Choons, a United Kingdom dance independent record label. Williams has also recorded as Mekka and wrote the song "Bullet in the Gun" as part of Paul Oakenfold's collective Planet Perfecto Planet Perfecto was a dance supergroup, formed in 1997 by Paul Oakenfold, Ian Masterson and Jake Williams. The Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) is a non-profit association set up in 1999 to promote certain interests of the music industry in Ireland. It is particularly active in addressing copyright issues, and it compiles the official music charts for Ireland. Membership Only Irish companies can become members of the IRMA. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) is a trade association representing the Australian recording industry which was established in the 1970s by six major record companies, EMI, Festival, CBS, RCA, WEA and Universal replacing the Association of Australian Record Manufacturers (AARM) which was formed in 1956. Record Mirror
''Record Mirror'' was a British weekly music newspaper between 1954 and 1991 for pop fans and record collectors. Launched two years after the ''NME'', it never attained the circulation of its rival. The first UK album chart was published in ''Record Mirror'' in 1956, and during the 1980s it was the only consumer music paper to carry the official UK singles and UK albums charts used by the BBC for Radio 1 and ''Top of the Pops'', as well as the US ''Billboard'' charts. The title ceased to be a stand-alone publication in April 1991 when United Newspapers closed or sold most of their consumer magazines, including ''Record Mirror'' and its sister music magazine ''Sounds'', to concentrate on trade papers like ''Music Week''. Hooj Choons
Hooj Choons is a house record label formed by Alex Simons and Red Jerry (real name Jeremy Dickens) in 1990. The first release was "Carnival de Casa" by Rio Rhythm Band, however, it was not until 1992's release of Felix's "Don't You Want Me", which Red Jerry and Faithless founder-member Rollo co-produced, that Hooj Choons had their first crossover hit. Over the next ten years, Hooj Choons had several notable releases including productions from artists such as Diss-Cuss, Tilt, Oliver Lieb and JX. The label built up a roster of popular club hits and smaller underground classics over 20 years. Dissolution In 2003, Hooj announced its dissolution as a record label. Hooj Choons was dissolved having released 136 singles plus a dozen or so album-length compilations. It is survived by its sub-label Lost Language, which has subsequently released the album ''Oid'' by Space Manoeuvres.
