Yoshi Ikuzō
is the stage name of , a Japanese famous enka singer-songwriter. Enka is a popular genre akin to Japanese folk music or blues music in the Western world. He has released several popular albums. Amongst his most famous hits are "Sake-yo", "Suika", and "Yuki Guni". He also claimed that he became the first popular hip hop artist in Japan by his 1984 song "Ora Tokyo sa Iguda" (lit. "I'm going to Tokyo"), which is sung in the Tsugaru dialect of Japanese. He has been on tour with fellow Japanese star Fukui Kodai. His wife is named Hisako, and they have a daughter, Ikumi. Kanagi, Aomori
was a town located in Kitatsugaru District in western Aomori Prefecture, Japan. History The town was also known as the birthplace of famed author Osamu Dazai. The area was part of Hirosaki Domain during the Edo period. After the Meiji Restoration, the village of Kanagi was created in 1898. It was raised to town status in 1920. In 1955, it annexed the neighboring villages of Kase and Kira. On March 28, 2005, Kanagi, along with the neighboring village of Shiura (also from Kitatsugaru District), was merged into the expanded city of Goshogawara, and thus no longer exists as an independent municipality. At the time of its merger, Kanagi had an estimated population of 10,557 and a population density of 83.8 persons per km². The total area was 125.97 km². The town economy was dominated by commercial fishing and agriculture. is a Japanese music genre considered to resemble traditional Japanese music stylistically. Modern ''enka'', however, is a relatively recent musical form, which adopts a more traditional musical style in its vocalism than ''ryūkōka'' music, popular during the prewar years. Modern ''enka'', as developed in the postwar era, is a form of sentimental ballad music. Some of the first modern ''enka'' singers were Hachiro Kasuga, Michiya Mihashi, and Hideo Murata. Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival
The is a Japanese summer festival which takes place every August in Goshogawara, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. It is known as one of the four largest festivals in the Tsugaru region of Japan, along with the Aomori Nebuta Festival, the Hirosaki Neputa Festival, and the Kuroishi Yosare Festival. The Goshogawara Tachineputa Festival is notable for its large tachineputa floats, which are much taller than those found in the Aomori and Hirosaki Festivals. The tachineputa floats stand at 23 meters in height and weigh 19 tons. The start of the festival is marked with a fireworks show on August 3, with the parade beginning on August 4 and continuing through August 8th. The 2020 festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
