Yorkshire ECB County Premier League
The Yorkshire ECB County Premier League was the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in Yorkshire, England, and between 1999 and 2015 was a designated ECB Premier League. The competing teams in 2015, which was the league's last season, were: Appleby Frodingham, Barnsley, Castleford, Cleethorpes, Doncaster Town, Driffield Town, Harrogate, Hull, Rotherham Town, Sheffield Collegiate, Sheffield United, York, and Yorkshire CCC Academy. After the 2015 season, the league was reconfigured to form the basis of two new regionalised leagues. Scarborough Cricket Club (England)
Scarborough Cricket Club is an English amateur cricket club, based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The club was founded in 1849, and is a member of the Yorkshire Premier League North. Ground The North Marine Road is a 11,500-capacity ground in Scarborough and the base for Scarborough Cricket Club. The two 'ends' are known as the Peasholm Park End and the Trafalgar Square End. The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League, commonly abbreviated to NYSD, is the top level competition for recreational club cricket in the north of Yorkshire and south of Durham, England. The league was founded as long ago as 1892, the first competition was held in the following year. The league chose to play an official, if shortened, competition after most ECB Premier Leagues formally cancelled the 2020 season due the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a successful league in the country, in national inter-league competitive cricket, having won the LCC National inter-league competition (latterly known as the Presidents Trophy) on no fewer than 12 occasions. The Bradford Premier League (currently known as the Gordon Rigg Bradford Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is an amateur cricket competition centred in Bradford, West Yorkshire. It has been described as "arguably England's strongest amateur competition." This is despite most people being aware that top clubs have player wage bills in the 5 figure brackets. The Yorkshire South Premier League was formed in early 2016, as part of the restructuring of club cricket in Yorkshire, and is an ECB Premier League. Of the twelve initial teams competing, seven came from the now disbanded Yorkshire ECB County Premier League (Appleby Frodingham, Barnsley, Cleethorpes, Doncaster Town, Rotherham Town, Sheffield and Phoenix United, and Sheffield Collegiate), four from the South Yorkshire Premier League (Aston Hall, Treeton, Whitley Hall and Wickersley Old Village) and one from the Central Yorkshire League (Wakefield Thornes). The Yorkshire Premier League North was formed in early 2016 following the re-structure of club cricket within Yorkshire, and is an ECB Premier League. Of the initial twelve competing teams, six were from the now disbanded Yorkshire ECB County Premier League - Castleford, Driffield Town, Harrogate, Hull, York, and Yorkshire CCC Academy. The other six teams were from the York & District Senior Cricket League - Acomb, Dunnington, Scarborough, Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Stamford Bridge, and Woodhouse Grange. Limited overs cricket, also known as one-day cricket or white ball cricket, is a version of the sport of cricket in which a match is generally completed in one day.
