York Region Transit Mobility Plus
York Region Transit Mobility Plus is a program that offers transit services, known as ''Mobility Plus'', to the disabled using specially equipped buses. Mobility Plus is York Region's equivalent of the Toronto Transit Commission's Wheel-Trans service. History YRT Mobility Plus was created in 2001 following the merger of the various transit agencies in York Region. Most of the mobility system was inherited from Vaughan Transit and Markham Transit (Mobility Bus and Taxi Scrip), who operated similar systems since the 1980s. Services YRT Mobility Plus operates in a similar manner to Wheel-Trans and makes connections to other operators in Toronto, GO Transit, Mississauga Transit, Brampton Transit, and Durham Region Transit. Newmarket Transit
Newmarket Transit was a transit system in York Region, Ontario, Canada. While Newmarket was considerably smaller than any of the three cities in the southern part of the York region, it had a quality transit service. Service on some of the routes was provided until midnight, with 15-minute service provided on trunk routes (55A, 55B) during rush hours. Newmarket Transit was merged with York Region's other services to form York Region Transit in 2001. Newmarket Transit began sometime in the early 1970s as a contracted service from the town replacing the Newmarket Town Bus (c. 1958 and renamed from the Newmarket Bus Lines c. 1948). The ENC E-Z Rider and its successor E-Z Rider II are a line of low-floor, mid-sized transit buses available in 30', 32', and 35' nominal lengths manufactured by ENC (formerly ElDorado National–California) in Riverside, California starting from 1996.
