Yong-Kang Kim
Yong-Kang Kim (, born January 3, 1965) is a South Korean former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 1995. He is a two-time flyweight champion, having held the WBC and ''The Ring'' titles from 1988 to 1989 and the WBA title from 1991 to 1992. Professional career Kim turned pro in 1985 and captured the WBC and ''The Ring'' flyweight titles with a decision win over Sot Chitalada in 1988. He lost his belts in his third defense in a rematch with Chitalada. In 1991 he won the WBA flyweight title with a decision win over Elvis Álvarez. He defended the belt twice before losing it to Aquiles Guzman in 1992. In 1994 Kim returned for his biggest fight, for he WBA flyweight title against Saen Sor Ploenchit. The fight was staged a half mile from the Bridge over the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand (Kleebbua Stadium or Kanchanaburi Stadium). Over 50,000 fans turned out for the free boxing event. Light flyweight, also known as junior flyweight or super strawweight, is a Weight class (boxing), weight class in boxing. Professional boxing The weight limit at light flyweight in professional boxing is 108 pounds (49 kilograms). When New York (state), New York legalized boxing in 1920, the law stipulated a "junior flyweight" class, with a weight limit of 99 pounds. When the National Boxing Association was formed in 1921, it also recognized this weight class. However, on January 19, 1922, the NBA decided to withdraw recognition of the junior flyweight division. On December 31, 1929, the New York State Athletic Commission also abolished the junior flyweight class. No champion had been crowned in this division prior to its abolition. Lee Yul-woo
Yul-Woo Lee (January 25, 1967 – December 10, 2009) was a South Korean former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 1990. He was a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBC light-flyweight title in 1989 and the WBA flyweight title in 1990. Professional career Lee turned pro in 1985 and captured the WBC light flyweight title with a TKO win over German Torres in 1989. He lost his belt in his first defense to Humberto González. He then moved up in weight and won a split decision over WBA flyweight title holder Jesus Kiki Rojas in 1990, but lost the belt in his first defense again to Leopard Tamakuma by TKO. Khaosai Galaxy ( th, เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่, born, 15 May 1959) is a Thai former professional boxer who competed between 1980 and 1991. He was also a Muay Thai practitioner. He held the WBA super-flyweight title between November 1984 and December 1991. He is listed #19 on ''Ring'' Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time and named him the 43rd greatest fighter of the past 80 years in 2002.
