Joseph Yobo
Joseph Michael Yobo (born 6 September 1980) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a centre back. He was the captain of the Nigerian national team until his international football retirement in June 2014, and was Nigeria's record appearance holder. In February 2020, he was appointed assistant coach of the Super Eagles by the Nigeria Football Federation. Early years Yobo's birthplace and origin is Kono, an Ogoni community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. Yobo left Nigeria to join Standard Liège in 1998. He made his first team debut in 2000, and went on to appear 46 times. In 2001, he was bought by Marseille. Club career Everton Soon after making his debut, Yobo was loaned to Tenerife. After around nine months, Yobo returned to Marseille, before joining Everton, again on loan, in July 2002. Adaeze Yobo (born Adaeze Stephanie Chinenye Igwe) is the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2008 and represented Nigeria at the Miss World 2008. She is Igbo from Anambra State. She pursued her childhood dream by representing Anambra in the MBGN pageant with 29 other girls. Like Ann Suinner before her, Yobo's platform was Sickle Cell Awareness; she also used her reign as a platform to showcase Nigerian talent. Apart from winning five million naira, a Hyundai car, and endorsement deals, Awka-Etiti-native Yobo represented Nigeria at Miss World 2008 in South Africa. She made the top twenty in Miss World Talent, and placed second in Miss World Sports. During her reign, Yobo established her own charity ''The Adaeze Igwe Foundation'', an organisation which promotes AIDS and breast cancer awareness, and raises funds towards similar causes, including malaria and tuberculosis. Albert Yobo
Michael Albert Yobo (born May, 1979 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria) is a retired Nigerian football defender. Previously, he played for AJ Auxerre, VfL Osnabrück, Grazer AK, FC Zwolle, and Pontevedra CF in Europe. He is the older brother of Nigeria international captain Joseph Yobo. In July 2008, their younger brother Norum Yobo was kidnapped in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and held for ransom. He was eventually released after 12 days on 17 July 2008.
