Yo Yo (Lil' JJ Song)
''Yoyo'', also referred to as ''Yo Yo'', is a 1965 French comedy film directed by and starring Pierre Étaix. The story follows the son of a millionaire from the 1920s to the 1960s. After losing his fortune in the stock-exchange crash, he teams up with an equestrienne and becomes a circus clown. The film was entered into the 1965 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The father of Yoyo is a 1920s millionaire who, although having everything he fancies and living in a cavernous old chateau, is not happy, and still misses a beautiful circus performer whom he once loved. When the stock market crashes, rendering him both poor and free, he joins the circus with which his former love and their young son are working, and they renew their relationship. Their son Yoyo has begun in the circus as a clown, but later becomes a successful actor and uses his new wealth to buy back his father's chateau. Pierre Étaix
Pierre Étaix (; 23 November 1928 – 14 October 2016) was a French clown, comedian and filmmaker. Étaix made a series of short- and feature-length films, many of them co-written by influential screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière. He won an Academy Award for best live action short film in 1963. Due to a legal dispute with a distribution company, his films were unavailable from the 1970s until 2009. As an actor, assistant director and gag writer, Étaix worked with the likes of Jacques Tati, Robert Bresson, Nagisa Oshima, Otar Iosseliani and Jerry Lewis, the last of whom cast the comedian in his unreleased film ''The Day the Clown Cried''. Biography Étaix was born in 1928 in Roanne, France. He was trained as a graphic designer and introduced to the art of stained glass by Théodore-Gérard Hanssen. ''The Day the Clown Cried'' is an unfinished and unreleased 1972 Swedish-French drama film directed by and starring Jerry Lewis. It is based on an original screenplay by Joan O'Brien and Charles Denton, from a story idea by O'Brien, with additional material from Lewis. The film was met with controversy regarding its premise and content, which features a circus clown who is imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. Lewis repeatedly insisted that ''The Day the Clown Cried'' would never be released, but later donated an incomplete copy of the film to the Library of Congress in 2015 under the stipulation that it was not to be screened before June 2024. According to Lewis's son, there is no complete negative of the film, and outstanding copyright issues have prevented its release.
