Yll Rugova
Yll Rugova (born 1984) is one of two deputy Ministers for Culture in Kosovo. He is a political activist, information designer and typographer from Kosovo. As a political and social activist, he is known as one of the founders of the Strong Party and initiator of a series of political and social events in Kosovo, including the 2013 protests against KEK in Pristina. In 2014 he was a candidate for Partia e Fortë during national elections. He is a lecturer of graphic design at the University for Business and Technology in Pristina. In 2005 together with Visar Arifaj co-founded the communication agency Trembelat. Together with Arifaj, and other activists and artists from Kosovo he founded the satirical political party Strong Party. In 2013 the party won one seat in the local elections for the local assembly of the capital Pristina. A political movement is a collective attempt by a group of people to change government policy or social values. Political movements are usually in opposition to an element of the status quo, and are often associated with a certain ideology. Some theories of political movements are the political opportunity theory, which states that political movements stem from mere circumstances, and the resource mobilization theory which states that political movements result from strategic organization and relevant resources. Kosovo Albanians
The Albanians of Kosovo ( sq, Shqiptarët e Kosovës, ), also commonly called Kosovo Albanians, Kosovar/Kosovan Albanians or Kosovars/Kosovans, constitute the largest ethnic group in Kosovo. Kosovo Albanians belong to the ethnic Albanian sub-group of Ghegs, who inhabit the north of Albania, north of the Shkumbin river, Kosovo, southern Serbia, and western parts of North Macedonia. 2014 Student Protest In Kosovo
In early 2014, Kosovo media accused rector Ibrahim Gashi of the University of Pristina and his staff of falsifying research and publishing scientific papers based on that research to bolster their academic credentials. Student protesters were angered after the Assembly failed to pass a vote demanding Gashi's resignation, with a coalition of governmental political parties opposing the move. A spokeswoman for the Kosovo police said that violence began when students began throwing red paint and rocks at responding officers, who then attempted to subdue them with tear gas. Reports state that Thirty police officers were reportedly injured, one with a head injury and several with broken arms or legs. More than 30 students and opposing politicians were arrested. Partia E Fortë
The Strong Party (Albanian: ''Partia e Fortë'', ''PF'') was a satirical political party in Kosovo formed in 2013. Its goal is "to come to power to control public money in the interest of supporters and the like-minded." As part of the group's commitment to gender equality, over thirty percent of the candidates running for office in the upcoming election are men. The Party seeks to maintain the political ''status quo'', praising Kosovo as a democratic country where living people as well as "those in the other world" can vote. Party leaders claim a victory of around 120 percent, as measured by the group's pollsters.
