Yizo Yizo
''Yizo Yizo'' is a South African television drama series which aired from 1999 to 2004 on SABC 1. Synopsis The series was set in a fictional school, Supatsela High, in a township of Johannesburg. In the first series, the school's dictatorial principal, Mr. Mthembu, is forced to leave after beating a pupil. His successor, Ken Mokoena, is weak and corrupt and allows the school to be taken over by gangs, until he is replaced by Grace Letsatsi, who works with the school community to rebuild the school and expel the criminal elements. In South Africa, the terms township and location usually refer to the often underdeveloped racially segregated urban areas that, from the late 19th century until the end of apartheid, were reserved for non-whites, namely Black Africans, Coloureds and Indians. Sthandiwe Kgoroge
Sthandiwe Kgoroge (born Sithandiwe Msomi; 4 February 1972) is a South Africa actor who appeared in ''Generations'', series 5 and 7 of ''MTV Shuga'', the mini-series ''MTV Shuga Alone Together'', and the first series of ''Yizo Yizo''. Life Kgoroge lived in Edmonton, Canada, from age five to ten. She was educated at the University of Natal, where she graduated in drama. She has said that she struggled with her self image, but eventually realised that her dark complexion was exactly right. She appeared in the first series of ''Yizo Yizo'' as Zoe Cele in 1999. She was recognised as the best supporting actress in a drama series for this role, and she received an Avanti Award. She played twins in ''Generations'' from 1999 to 2005. Zola (musician)
Bonginkosi Dlamini (born 24 April 1977), popularly known as Zola 7, is a South African kwaito musician, actor, writer, TV presenter and poet. Dlamini began his career as an actor, achieving national recognition in the television series yizo yizo. He also starred in the hit Academy Awards winning film Tsotsi in 2005 which he wrote the musical score for. With a career spanning more than 20 years, Dlamini essentially got into music, releasing 9 songs.
