YellowBrickRoad
''YellowBrickRoad'' is a 2010 American horror film directed by Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton and starring Cassidy Freeman, Anessa Ramsey and Laura Heisler. It is about an expedition to discover the fate of an entire town that disappeared into the wilderness 70 years earlier. Although critical reception was mixed, it won best film at the New York City Horror Film Festival. The film was released as part of the Bloody Disgusting Selects line. Plot In 1940 the entire town of Friar, 572 people, abandoned their town and walked into the wilderness with only the clothes on their backs after a viewing of '' The Wizard of Oz'', a film with which the entire town was obsessed. No one has ever been able to explain why they did this. Anessa Ramsey
Anessa Ramsey is an American actress and film producer. Ramsey starred in '' The Signal'' (2007), ''YellowBrickRoad'' (2010), and ''Rites of Spring'' (2011). Career Heather Wixson of Dread Central called her "one of the finest actresses working in independent film these days". Ramsey began acting at 17. Her first starring role was in ''The Signal'' with Justin Welborn and A. J. Bowen. The three had worked extensively with co-directors David Bruckner, Jacob Gentry, and Dan Bush in Atlanta-based productions previously. Her next starring role was in ''YellowBrickRoad''. The directors, Jesse Holland and Andy Mitton, were fans of ''The Signal'' and cast Ramsey based on her performance in that film. Lee Wilkof (born June 25, 1951) is an American actor and veteran of the Broadway stage. He originated the roles of Samuel Byck in ''Assassins'' and Seymour in ''Little Shop of Horrors, ''later earning a Tony Award nomination for the 2000 revival of ''Kiss Me, Kate.'' The New York City Horror Film Festival is an international film festival based in New York City that screens films from the horror genre. It was founded by Michael J. Hein in 2001. It takes place each year in New York City for a week in November. The festival presents awards best feature film, shorts, cinematography, FX, actor and actress, screenplay, and audience choice. Nathaniel Hawthorne (July 4, 1804 – May 19, 1864) was an American novelist and short story writer. His works often focus on history, morality, and religion. He was born in 1804 in Salem, Massachusetts, from a family long associated with that town. Hawthorne entered Bowdoin College in 1821, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 1824, and graduated in 1825.
