Years Past Matter
''Years Past Matter'' is the fourth studio album by the American black metal band Krallice. It was self-released by the band as a limited edition CD on August 25, 2012. A vinyl version of the album was subsequently released by Gilead Media on March 19, 2013. Musical style ''Years Past Matter'' adopts the "progressive black metal" style of their previous albums. The vocalists, Mick Barr and Nicolas McMaster, "approach their screams with equal gusto but very different tones." The basslines of McMaster were also described as "essential to the overall effect as the guitars." Krallice
Krallice is an American black metal band formed by New York City musicians Colin Marston, Mick Barr, Nick McMaster and Lev Weinstein. They play an experimental, highly technical style of black metal. The band has released twelve studio albums and three EPs, most recently the LP ''Psychagogue'' on June 17, 2022. They have been described as "one of the most interesting, engaging black metal bands to emerge in recent years" and "one of the most important bands in modern black metal". History Krallice was by formed by Colin Marston and Mick Barr in 2007. Barr said in an interview that "Colin and I had talked about trying to do a black metal record together with no real plans of making it sound good or even releasing it, but as we were writing the music we kind of let it take its own shape. ''Diotima'' is the third album by the New York-based experimental black metal band Krallice. It was released in 2011 by Profound Lore Records. Critical reception ''PopMatters'' called the album "yet another extraordinary piece of work that raises the proverbial bar once again ... this isn't just experimental; it's genuinely ''catchy''." ''The Village Voice'' wrote: "''Diotima'' is the kind of album that requires multiple listens, possibly alternating between headphones and speakers, to absorb. ''Ygg huur'' is the fifth studio album by the American black metal band Krallice. The album was recorded between July 4 and 8 at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves Studio and was self-released digitally by the band on July 30, 2015, with physical versions released in September. The album received widespread critical acclaim for its dense, complex songwriting and unique sound, featuring on a number of end-of-year lists by music publications. Musical style and writing Ygg huur has a highly technical, dense and complex style of metal, that has been described as "ranchingout kaleidoscopically, intricate riffs alternate frantically, from insanely fast tremolos to dissonant squeals, and rhythms float and bounce spastically without any anchors". MetalSucks is a heavy metal music-themed news website. The site features reviews, interviews, information on latest metal releases and blog-like posts from the writers, most notably Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. History The site was founded in December 2006 by authors Ben Umanov and Matthew Goldenberg who use the pen names Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. Colin Marston
Colin Marston (born September 13, 1982) is an American multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer residing in New York City. He graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music technology in 2004, and runs Menegroth The Thousand Caves Recording Studios in Woodhaven, Queens while not on tour with one of a number of bands. He is also known for his performances in acts such as Behold... The Arctopus, Dysrhythmia, Krallice, and the reunion lineup of Gorguts.
