Year Long Disaster
Year Long Disaster was an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 2004, the band was composed of vocalist and guitarist Daniel Davies, bassist Rich Mullins and drummer Brad Hargreaves. Hargreaves was later replaced by Rob Oswald, and guitarist William Mecum also joined in a later incarnation of the group. History 2004–2009: Formation and debut album Daniel Davies and Rich Mullins first met in November 2003, after the bassist had left Karma to Burn and was playing in the band Speedealer. After completing a drug rehabilitation program together, the pair met Brad Hargreaves in November 2004, and after an informal jam session formed Year Long Disaster later. Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona-based Americana, Tex-Mex, indie rock band. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records, while their 2005 EP ''In the Reins'', recorded with Iron & Wine, reached the Billboard 200 album charts. Third Eye Blind is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1993. After years of lineup changes in the early and mid-1990s, the songwriting duo of Stephan Jenkins and Kevin Cadogan signed the band's first major-label recording contract with Elektra Records in 1996. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1997, with the band largely consisting of Jenkins (vocals, rhythm guitar), Cadogan (lead guitar), Arion Salazar (bass guitar), and Brad Hargreaves (drums). Daniel Davies (musician)
Daniel Davies is a British-American composer, musician and songwriter. He is best known for his contributions to horror director John Carpenter's ''Lost Themes'' and '' Lost Themes II'' albums, and for his work with rock bands Year Long Disaster, Karma to Burn, and CKY. Davies is the son of guitarist Dave Davies of The Kinks, and the godson of John Carpenter. Early life Davies was born in London, England to The Kinks guitar player Dave Davies and his wife Nancy. His first nine years were in part spent on the road touring with his father. Davies moved to Los Angeles, California with his parents at the age of 11. His godfather, horror director John Carpenter, helped to raise Davies during a portion of his high school years. Davies attended Tomales High School near Inverness, California.
