Ye Shanghai
Ye Shanghai ( zh, 夜上海) is a live album by artist Roberto Paci Dalò, recorded as a live 5.1 performance in ORF Funkhaus Studio, Austrian Broadcasting Corporation in Wien, for Kunstradio programme and distributed by Soundohm. Beneath the album, the homonym project related to the history of the Shanghai Ghetto. Background Sonic materials are the Chinese song of the 30s ''Ye Shanghai'' (Shanghai nights) played by Zhou Xuan, sampled and rebuilt, and samples from archive materials from the years between 1933 and 1949, voices in English, Yiddish, Chinese, German. Roberto Paci Dalò
Roberto Paci Dalò is an Italian author, composer and musician, film maker and theatre director, sound and visual artist, radio-maker. He is the co-founder and director of the performing arts ensemblGiardini Pensiliand he has been the artistic director of Wikimania 2016 Esino Lario. He won the Premio Napoli per la lingua e la cultura italiana in 2015. Life and career After musical, visual, and architecture studies in Fiesole, Faenza and Ravenna, in 1993 he receives the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program Fellowship. He taught ''Media Dramaturgy'' and ''New Media'' at the University of Siena and teaches ''Interaction Design'' at UNIRSM Design Università degli Studi della Repubblica di San Marino.
