Yatil Green
Yatil Devon Green (born November 25, 1973) is a former professional American football player. A 6'2", 205 lbs. wide receiver from the University of Miami, he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 1st round (15th overall pick) of the 1997 NFL Draft, as Miami saw him as a much-needed speed receiver to add to a solid but unspectacular group of possession wideouts. He was represented by Miami-based sports agent, Drew Rosenhaus. However, on the first day of training camp, Green tore his quadriceps muscles, anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage in his right knee. Green came back the next year with Miami again pinning all of the team's downfield threat hopes on him (they did not draft, trade for, or sign any receivers with great speed during the 1998 offseason), but again tore the same ACL in training camp. 1997 NFL Draft
The 1997 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 19–20, 1997, at the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft this year. This draft was notable for its high-profile offensive linemen. The first overall selection was Orlando Pace, who appeared in seven consecutive Pro Bowls from 2000 to 2006 and was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2016. Tarik Glenn was selected 19th overall and was also named to three Pro Bowls. Daniel Constantine Marino Jr. (born September 15, 1961) is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 17 seasons with the Miami Dolphins. After a successful college career at Pittsburgh and being named First-team All-American in 1981, Marino was the last quarterback taken in the first round of the quarterback class of 1983. Tony Martin (American Football)
Tony Derrick Martin (born September 5, 1965), is an American former professional football player who was selected by the New York Jets in the 5th round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He earned second-team All-Pro honors with the San Diego Chargers in 1996. Career Tony Martin was a 6'1" wide receiver out of Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. The New York Jets grabbed him with their fifth round pick of the 1989 NFL Draft. Martin, however, did not make the opening day roster in New York, and was placed on waivers. The Dolphins picked him up as a free agent prior to the 1990 NFL season. Martin appeared in all 16 games that season for the Dolphins, starting five. He caught 29 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He also returned 26 punts for Miami, for 140 yards. He again played every game for Miami in 1991, catching 27 total passes for 434 yards and two touchdowns. The 1999 NFL season was the 80th regular season of the National Football League. The Cleveland Browns returned to the field for the first time since the 1995 season, while the Tennessee Oilers changed their name to "Tennessee Titans," with the league retiring the name "Oilers." The return of the Browns increased the number of teams to 31, the first time the league had played with an odd number of teams since 1966. As per the league's agreement with the City of Cleveland, the Browns were placed in the AFC Central, increasing that division to six teams. Cartilage is a resilient and smooth type of connective tissue. In tetrapods, it covers and protects the ends of long bones at the joints as articular cartilage, and is a structural component of many body parts including the rib cage, the neck and the bronchial tubes, and the intervertebral discs. Anterior Cruciate Ligament
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of a pair of cruciate ligaments (the other being the posterior cruciate ligament) in the human knee. The two ligaments are also called "cruciform" ligaments, as they are arranged in a crossed formation. In the quadruped stifle joint (analogous to the knee), based on its anatomical position, it is also referred to as the cranial cruciate ligament. The term cruciate translates to cross. This name is fitting because the ACL crosses the posterior cruciate ligament to form an “X”. It is composed of strong, fibrous material and assists in controlling excessive motion.
