Yassir al-Sudani ( ar, ياسر السوداني), (russian: Ясир аль-Судани), also known as Yasser Youssef Amarat or Abu Yassir, was a Mujahid Emir (commander) fighting in Chechnya. Most Russian language sources report he was a Jordanian citizen. Rebel Activity Reportedly an explosives expert who specialized in the preparation of suicide bombers, al-Sudani is said to have traveled to the Caucasus region in 2003, serving in the State Defense Committee - or Majilis al-Shura - of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Following the death of Abu Hafs al-Urduni in November 2006, al-Sudani was reportedly one of the candidates to succeed him as Emir of the Arab Mujahideen in Chechnya. The appointment eventually went to the Saudi-born militant known as Muhannad, but al-Sudani became leader of a branch of the foreign volunteers that at one time had previously been commanded by al-Urduni. Vedeno (russian: Ведено; ce, Ведана, ''Vedana'') is a rural locality (a '' selo'') and the administrative center of Vedensky District, Chechnya. Administrative and municipal status Municipally, Vedeno is incorporated into Vedenskoye rural settlement. It is the administrative center of the municipality and is one of the four settlements included in it. The village is also the administrative center of Vedensky District. Geography The village of Vedeno is located in the central part of Vedensky District, between the Akhkinchu and Khulkhulau rivers. It is located south-east of the city of Grozny. The nearest settlements to Vedeno are Ersenoy in the north-east, Dyshne-Vedeno in the south-east, Mekhkadettan-Irze in the south-west, Eshilkhatoy in the west, and Zelamkhin-Kotar in the north-west. The village is located at an average altitude of 722 meters above sea level. To the south, the Khoroch ridge rises above Vedeno, with the mountain peak of the same name. ...

Muhannad (Mujahid Emir)
Melfi Al Hussaini Al Harbi, more commonly known as Muhannad (; Mukhannad or Mukhanad, russian: Муханнад, sometimes Моганнед or Моханнад), and also known as Abu Anas (), was a Mujahid Emir (commander) fighting in Chechnya. Following the death of Abu Hafs al-Urduni on 26 November 2006, he was named leader of the battalion of foreign fighters once commanded by the notorious Saudi-born Ibn al-Khattab. Although Russian intelligence has claimed that he was a native of Jordan who served as a combat pilot (achieving the rank of Lieutenant) in the Jordanian Air Force and who also underwent military training in the United States this is not considered to be true.
