Yasmeen Sami Alamiri
Yasmeen Sami Alamiri is an Iraqi American journalist. She currently serves as the digital news editor for PBS NewsHour. Alamiri became a White House correspondent in 2007 for the Saudi Press Agency. In that capacity, Alamiri was the first member of the White House foreign press pool. She has covered both U.S. domestic politics and U.S. policy in the Middle East for organizations such as Rare, BBC, WJLA-TV, Al Arabiya, and Fair Observer. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC). Iraqi Americans
Iraqi Americans (Arabic: أمريكيون عراقيون) (Kurdish عێراقییە ئەمریکییەکان, Îraqiyên Amerîkî) are American citizens who originate from Iraq. As of 2015, the number of Iraqi Americans is around 145,279, according to the United States Census Bureau. According to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, 49,006 Iraqi foreign born immigrated to the United States between 1989 and 2001 and 25,710 Iraqi-born immigrants naturalized between 1991 and 2001. However, the 2000 United States Census reported that there were approximately 90,000 immigrants born in Iraq residing in the United States. The American University (AU or American) is a private federally chartered research university in Washington, D.C. Its main campus spans 90 acres (36 ha) on Ward Circle, mostly in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Northwest D.C. James Madison University (JMU, Madison, or James Madison) is a public research university in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
