Yash Kumar
Yash Kumar (; born 16 November 1978) is a Nepali singer, songwriter, music composer, and actor. He has received numerous awards, including the best playback singer in 2011 from National Film Award. He is also an activist against the untouchability system in Nepal. Biography Yash Kumar was born on 16 November 1978 to father Ram Nepal and mother Gita Nepal (Pariyar) in Sarlahi district, Nepal. He currently resides in Kathmandu with his wife and two sons. Career Yash Kumar started as a music composer in 2000. His debut album was ''Yo Sansar'' where he composed all songs. "Behal Bhayo Zindagi Yo" became an instant hit from the album. Even though he released his second album ''Umer'' in 2001, Yash Kumar rose to fame for his third solo album ''Reason''. The song "Maile Chhoyeko Paani Chaldaina" became the chartbuster song of the year which bagged him several awards. Sarlahi District
Sarlahi ( ne, सर्लाही ; Maithili: सर्लाही), a part of Madhesh Province, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. According to new laws, a combination of more than two or four villages makes a municipality, which covers an area of and had a population of 635,701 in 2001 and 769,729 in 2011. It is bordered to the west by the Bagmati River, to the east by Mahottari District, to the north by the Sivalik Hills, and to the south by Bihar State of India. Etymology Generally, the people of Sarlahi believe that the name ''Sarlahi'' comes from the name of the Sarla Devi temple. The Sarla Devi temple is situated in Hempur village in the Sarlahi district. Inter-caste Marriage In Nepal
Inter-caste marriage ( ne, अन्तरजातीय विवाह ) is a type of marriage that is done outside of one's caste. Nepal has many castes and inter-caste marriage is generally considered taboo. However, this kind of marriage has been gradually gaining acceptance. It is against the law to discriminate against a person for their "cultural and ethnic" background. Nevertheless, most Nepali families disapprove of inter-caste marriages because "they fear they will become social outcasts". According to research done by Jagaran Media Center, inter-caste marriage often leads to harassment, forced separation, displacement, and institutional discrimination. Additionally, brides who are not accepted by their families were found to be at risk of depression and psychosocial difficulties. Dalit (from sa, दलित, dalita meaning "broken/scattered"), also previously known as untouchable, is the lowest stratum of the Caste system in India, castes in India.
