Yash Chopra (book)
''Yash Chopra'' (known as ''Yash Chopra: Fifty Years in Indian Cinema'' in India) is a biography written by the British professor and author Rachel Dwyer, chronicling the life and career of the Indian filmmaker Yash Chopra. The book details Chopra's birth in 1932 in Lahore, his career both as a director and producer, and his 1970 marriage to the then- playback singer Pamela, with whom he had two sons Aditya and Uday. The British Film Institute published ''Yash Chopra'' on 29 April 2002 in the United Kingdom and Roli Books did so on 30 July in India. While writing ''All You Want is Money, All You Need is Love: Sexuality and Romance in Modern India'' (2000), Dwyer saw Chopra on a televised interview in 1993, which aired following the release of ''Darr''. Rachel Dwyer
Rachel Dwyer is a professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema at SOAS, University of London. Life Dwyer took her BA in Sanskrit at SOAS, followed by an MPhil in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology at the University of Oxford. Her PhD research was on the Gujarati lyrics of Dayaram (1777-1852). She has published several books on Indian cinema. Filmfare Award For Best Director
The Filmfare Best Director Award is one of the main awards presented given by the annual Filmfare Awards to recognise directors working in Hindi cinema. It was first presented in 1954 in the inaugural year. Dil To Pagal Hai
''Dil To Pagal Hai'' (; ), is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language musical romance film directed by Yash Chopra. The film follows the love lives of the members of a musical troupe, in which two dancers played by Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor get entangled in a love triangle with their choreographer played by Shah Rukh Khan, with Akshay Kumar as the childhood friend of Dixit's character. The film marked Khan's second film with Chopra after ''Darr'' (1993), and the third film to feature Khan opposite Dixit, after ''Anjaam'' (1994) and ''Koyla'' (1997), and Kapoor for the first time. ''Lamhe'' (lit. ''Moments'') is a 1991 Indian musical romantic drama film directed by Yash Chopra and written by Honey Irani and Rahi Masoom Raza. The film stars Sridevi and Anil Kapoor in lead roles, along with Waheeda Rehman and Anupam Kher in pivotal supporting roles. In the film, Viren (Kapoor) falls for Pallavi (Sridevi), but she marries someone else. ''Mashaal'' () is a 1984 Bollywood action film. Produced and directed by Yash Chopra, it starred Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor and Rati Agnihotri.
