Yaroslava Mahuchikh
Yaroslava Oleksiyivna Mahuchikh ( uk, Ярослава Олексіївна Магучіх; ; born 19 September 2001) is a Ukrainian high jumper. She was the 2020 Summer Olympics bronze medalist, 2019 and 2022 World Championships silver medalist, and 2022 World Indoor Championships gold medalist. At the 2022 Brussels Diamond League, Mahuchikh jumped 2.05 m, which is her outdoor personal best and a Ukrainian record. In 2021, she achieved her indoor personal best of 2.06 m, which is also a national record. Career Yaroslava Mahuchikh started the high jump at the age of 13, and she was able to improve significantly in two years. At the age of 15, she won the gold medal at the 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships in Nairobi by the largest margin in World U18 Championships history with her personal best of 1.92 m. 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships
The 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships are the 13th edition of the biennial athletics competition between European athletes under the age of twenty-three. It was planned to be held in Bergen, Norway from 8 to 11 July., but this venue was cancelled for Covid pandemic reasons. Initially it was intended that the event would be postponed and held in another venue after the 2020 Olympic Games. Eventually the original dates were retained, and Tallinn, Estonia was chosen as the venue. This means that Tallinn will be hosting two age-group championships in successive weeks: after the European Athletics U23 Championships, the Kadriorg Stadium will also host between 15 and 18 July the European Athletics U20 Championships. The European Athletics U23 Championships is a biennial athletics competition for European athletes under the age of 23, which is organized by the European Athletic Association. The oldest of the 'age-group' track and field events held by European Athletics - European Athletics U20 Championships (previously called 'Junior Championships') are held in the same odd numbered years, while the European Athletics U18 Championships, previously the 'Youth Championships' are held in even numbered years. 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held from 4 to 7 March 2021 at the Arena Toruń in Toruń, Poland. This was the second time this event was held in Poland after the 1975 edition in Katowice. The four-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events. Altogether 659 athletes from 46 countries participated in the event which is a record in the competition's history. The Netherlands topped the medal table for the first time with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Katarzynka, a gingerbread, was the mascot. European Athletics Indoor Championships
The European Athletics Indoor Championships is a biennial indoor track and field competition for European athletes that is organised by the European Athletic Association. It was held for the first time in 1970, replacing the European Indoor Games, its predecessor event first held in 1966. The championships was an annual event until 1990, when it was changed to its current biennial format. A gap of three years occurred after the 2002 edition to synchronize the event with the other major championships of international athletics. The women's high jump at the 2022 European Athletics Championships took place at the Olympic Stadium on 19 & 21 August 2022. Records Schedule Results In the absence of Mariya Lasitskene, Yaroslava Mahuchikh of Ukraine was the overwhelming favourite, going into the Championships with her season's best of 2.03m. Iryna Herashchenko of Ukraine and bronze medallist of the 2022 World Athletics Championships, Italy's Elena Vallortigara were the only other competitors in the field who cleared 2.00m earlier in the season. The European Athletics Championships is a biennial (from 2010) athletics event organised by the European Athletics Association and is recognised as the elite continental outdoor athletics championships for Europe. 2021 Diamond League
The 2021 Diamond League, also known as the 2021 Wanda Diamond League for sponsorship reasons, is the twelfth season of the Diamond League, annual series of outdoor track and field meetings, organised by World Athletics. The 2021 season sees an increase back to 32 Diamond Disciplines from the 24 originally planned for the 2020 Diamond League. The final will use a new format set to take place over two days on 8–9 September in one final meet, the Weltklasse Zürich, as had been planned to be introduced in 2020 but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
