Jean Yarbrough
Jean Yarbrough (August 22, 1901 – August 2, 1975) was an American film director. Biography Jean Yarbrough was born in Marianna, Arkansas on August 22, 1901. He attended the University of the South located in Sewanee, Tennessee. In 1922, Yarbrough entered the film business working in silent pictures, first as a "prop man" and later rising through the ranks to become an assistant director. By 1936, he was a bona fide director, first doing comedy and musical shorts for RKO which was founded by Joseph P. Kennedy among others. His directorial debut for a feature-length film was ''Rebellious Daughters'' which was made by the low-budget studio, Progressive Pictures in 1938. Fred Gabourie (September 19, 1881 - March 1, 1951) was a technical director and department head. Gabourie was born in Tweed, Ontario, Canada. He was a member of the Seneca Indian tribe. He served in the Spanish–American War. He worked primarily for Buster Keaton, figuring out how to make Keaton's innovative stunts work. As one author put it, "Fred Gabourie had the most interesting job in the world: He solved problems for Buster Keaton." As technical director, he was responsible for set design, construction, props management, and location scouting. During this time, he designed the electric house in ''The Electric House'', which featured an automated staircase, library, swimming pool, and dining room. Sol Gorss, born Saul Gorss (March 22, 1908 – September 10, 1966) was a prominent American movie and television actor and stunt man. He was active from the 1930s to the mid-1960s, when he died. Before Gorss became an actor, he worked as a professional football player, a caddy and an assistant golf professional. Gorss appeared in many films, including ''Warlock'', ''The Phantom (serial)'', and '' Adventures of Superman'', among many others. In 1944, he owned a night club.
