Yanqing Railway Station
Yanqing railway station () is the terminus of the Yanqing branch of the Line S2 of the Beijing Suburban Railway. Yanqing railway station was used as a freight station since 1983, and in 2003 it closed due to the fall of shipments. In 2008, the station finished its first renovation and resumed passenger services. From 2019, a new station hall began construction for the coming Winter Olympics. Since 1 December 2020, The new station hall as well as Yanqing branch of Beijing–Zhangjiakou intercity railway begin serve the station. Design Yanqing railway station has been expanded for several major events hosted by Yanqing District. Yanqing District
Yanqing District (), formerly known as Yanqing County before 2015, is a District (China), district of the municipality of Beijing located northwest of the city proper of Beijing. The district consists of 3 Subdistrict (China), subdistricts, 11 Town (China), towns and 4 Township (China), townships, and borders the Beijing districts of Huairou District, Huairou to the east and Changping District, Changping to the south as well as the Hebei counties of Huailai County, Huailai to the west and Chicheng County, Chicheng to the north. Beijing–Zhangjiakou Intercity Railway
The Beijing–Zhangjiakou intercity railway, also known as the Jingzhang intercity railway, Jingzhang high speed railway, Jingzhang section of Beijing-Baotou PDL, is a high-speed railway between Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province, China. The line was opened on 30 December 2019, and is the world's first driverless high speed railway, shortening the traveling time from Beijing to Zhangjiakou from 3 hours 7 minutes to 47 minutes. It forms part of both the Beijing–Lanzhou corridor and the Beijing–Zhangjiakou–Datong–Taiyuan branch of the Beijing–Kunming corridor. The main line has 10 stations. Line S2 (BCR)
Line S2 of Beijing Suburban Railway (BCR) () is a commuter rail line in Beijing. The main line runs from Huangtudian railway station in Changping District to Yanqing railway station in Yanqing District, following the old Beijing–Baotou railway, and provides faster, more frequent and convenient service than preexisting trains. The line is in length (main line + branch line). The train locomotives are marked "Great Wall" (). Stations Operation Trains can reach a maximum speed of . A trip from Huangtudian to the Badaling Great Wall takes about 1 hour and 22 minutes. Since 1 December 2020 there have been five services each way from Friday to Monday and on public holidays. BCR (''Beijing City Rail'') also known as Beijing Suburban Railway is a commuter rail service that connects urban Beijing with outlying districts beyond the reach of the city's Beijing Subway network. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. Badaling Great Wall railway station (), also translated as Badalingchangcheng railway station, is a railway station in Badaling scenic area, Yanqing District, Beijing. The station hall started construction on to build an underground high-speed railway station on the Beijing–Zhangjiakou intercity railway (Part of Beijing–Baotou Passenger-Dedicated Line) opened on 30 December 2019. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location.
