Yangzom Brauen
Yangzom Brauen (born 18 April 1980 in Switzerland) is a Swiss actress, activist and writer. Life and work Brauen, the daughter of Swiss ethnologist Martin Brauen and Tibetan artist Sonam Dolma Brauen, started her acting career with small roles in Swiss television series. She had her Hollywood debut in the film ''Aeon Flux'' in the role of Inari. Since then, she has played in various American independent productions including a minor role in Al Pacino's '' Salomaybe'', an adaptation of Oscar Wilde's '' Salome'' and the leading part in the German film '' Asudem'' (2006) by Daryush Shokof. In addition to her acting work, Brauen has drawn media attention with her public advocacy on behalf of the Tibetan people. Martin Brauen (born 15 March 1948, in Bern) is a cultural anthropologist from Bern, Switzerland who specialises in Tibet, the Himalayas and history of religions. Biography Martin Brauen studied ethnology and religious history at the University of Zurich and Buddhology at the University of Delhi. He earned a doctorate after defending a thesis in Zurich on ''Holidays and ceremonies in Ladakh'' and a degree of ''Privatdozent'' (Habilitation in the field of anthropology of religions). Since 1975 he has had several positions at the EthnographicMuseum of the University of Zurich (Head of the "Himalaya, Tibet and the Far East" department, deputy director and director ad interim), as well as becoming a lecturer. ''Pandorum'' is a 2009 German/British science fiction horror film, with elements of Lovecraftian horror and survival adventure.
