Yang-Hui He
Yang-Hui He (; born 29 September 1975) is a mathematical physicist, who is a Fellow at the London Institute, which is based at the Royal Institution of Great Britain, as well as lecturer and former Fellow at Merton College, Oxford. He holds honorary positions as visiting professor of mathematics at City, University of London, Chang-Jiang Chair professor at Nankai University, and President of STEMM Global scientific society. Yang works on the interface between quantum field theory, string theory, algebraic geometry and number theory, as well as how AI and machine-learning help with these problems. He is one of the pioneers of the field of using AI for pure mathematics. Yang is author of over 200 scientific publications and is also a keen communicator of science, giving regular public lectures including the Royal Institution Friday Evening Discourse, as well as podcasts. Algebraic geometry is a branch of mathematics, classically studying zeros of multivariate polynomials. Modern algebraic geometry is based on the use of abstract algebraic techniques, mainly from commutative algebra, for solving geometrical problems about these sets of zeros. The MIT Center for Theoretical Physics (CTP) is the hub of theoretical nuclear physics, particle physics, and quantum information research at MIT. It is a subdivision of MIT Laboratory for Nuclear Science and Department of Physics. Allen Shenstone
Allen Goodrich Shenstone, (July 27, 1893 – February 16, 1980) was a Canadian physicist. He earned bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cambridge. After a brief stint as a junior faculty member at the University of Toronto, he returned to Princeton, where he was a professor in the Department of Physics 1925–62. He chaired the department 1949–60. He worked primarily in the field of atomic spectroscopy. He was awarded the Military Cross for his service in the Royal Engineers in World War I and made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his work as a scientific officer in World War II.
