Yamagata Aritomo
''Gensui (Imperial Japanese Army), Gensui'' Prince , also known as Prince Yamagata Kyōsuke, was a senior-ranking Japanese people, Japanese military commander, twice-elected Prime Minister of Japan, and a leading member of the ''genrō'', an élite group of senior statesmen who dominated Japan after the Meiji Restoration. As the Imperial Japanese Army's inaugural Imperial Japanese Army General Staff Office, Chief of Staff, he was the chief architect of the Empire of Japan's military and its reactionary ideology. For this reason, some historians consider Yamagata to be the “father” of Japanese militarism. Yamagata Bantō
was a well-known resident of Osaka who was both a scholar and a merchant. He was the able head clerk of the money exchange merchant Masuya. He studied Confucianism from Nakai Chikuzan and his brother Nakai Riken, and astronomy from Asada Goryu at the Kaitokudō School during its golden age. Despite his poor eyesight, he devoted 18 years to writing the book titled "Yumenoshiro" or "Instead of Dreams" which had as many as 12 volumes. In this book he supported the Heliocentrism, heliocentric theory, criticized the age of gods and advocated atheism. He played a pioneering role of bringing about modern thought in Japan and helped move it forward from its age old feudal system. Osaka Prefecture recently established a prize of international culture named the Yamagata Banto Prize. References

Hiro Yamagata (born 山形 博導 ''Hiromichi Yamagata'', May 30, 1948, in Maihara, in Shiga prefecture, Japan) is a painter/artist, based in Los Angeles, California. As a silkscreen artist, he is known for his use of vivid colors in his pieces. He is also known for his use of laser and hologram technology recently, and is recognized as a pioneer in the former. Life in Japan Yamagata is the third child and has five siblings. His father ran a lumber business. Whilst at high school between 1964 and 1967 he won awards and began to use lights in his work. In 1967 he became a student of Masachika Sugimura before moving to Tokyo, where he worked part-time at an artist's material shop and later as an illustrator and a designer for an advertising company. is a Japanese author, critic, economist, and translator. He translated some important works in computer technology such as "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" by Eric S. Raymond, "Code and Other Laws of Cyberspace" by Lawrence Lessig into Japanese. Isao Yamagata
was a Japanese film actor. In 1942, Yamagata and So Yamamura formed the ''Bunkaza Theatre Company''. In 1949 he made his film debut with ''Kirareya Senta''. Yamagata became famous for his role in 1953 film '' Gate of Hell''. He became a character actor and often played villainous roles. In 1973, Yamagata landed main role on the TV jidaigeki ''Kenkaku Shōbai''. He died of tuberculosis in 1996. He appeared in more than 180 films between 1951 and 1984. , known professionally as , is a Japanese actress, television presenter, and singer (under the stage name Kakko). Career Suzuki was born in Minoh, Osaka and raised in Kobe, Hyogo. is a former Japanese football player. His younger brother Tatsunori Yamagata is also footballer. Playing career Yamagata was born in Kitakyushu on September 7, 1981. Yamagata Masakage
also known as Obu Masakage was a Japanese samurai warrior of the Sengoku period. He is known as one of the "Twenty-Four Generals of Takeda Shingen". He was famous for his red armour and skill in battlefield, and was a personal friend of Takeda Shingen. He was the younger brother of Obu Toramasa who was also a retainer of Shingen leading the famous "red fire unit" (derived from Shingen's slogan Fūrinkazan). After his brother Obu Masatora committed Seppuku as a cover for Takeda Yoshinobu's failed rebellion, Masakage changed his family name to Yamagata(He used the name Obu Masakage at first.). is a Japanese sprinter holding the Japanese record of 9.95 in the 100m. He won the bronze medal in the medley relay at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics. is a former Japanese football player. His elder brother Kyohei Yamagata is also a former footballer. Playing career Yamagata was born in Kitakyushu on October 4, 1983. After graduating from high school, he joined J2 League club Albirex Niigata in 2002. He played several matches as right side back from first season. In 2004, he moved to Albirex Niigata Singapore.
