Yam Banks
Yamarus Kenyon Banks Jr. (born March 19, 2002) is an American football safety for the Ole Miss Rebels. He previously played for the South Alabama Jaguars. Early life and high school Banks grew up in Ridgeland, Mississippi and attended Ridgeland High School where he lettered in football and baseball. Coming out of high school, Banks decided to commit to play college football for the South Alabama Jaguars. College career South Alabama In Banks first season in 2020 he notched two tackles. During the 2021 season, Banks recorded 49 tackles, with four and a half going for a loss, two pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. In week four of the 2022 season, Banks had a breakout game against Louisiana Tech, where he recovered a fumble, broke up three passes, and intercepeted two pass, which he returned one for a touchdown. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. 2022 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Football Team
The 2022 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team represented Louisiana Tech University as a member of Conference USA (C-USA) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by first year head coach Sonny Cumbie. The Bulldogs played their home games at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, Louisiana. Previous season The 2021 team finished with an overall record of 3–9. The team went 2–6 in Conference USA play, finishing in last place of the West Division. The Ole Miss Rebels football program represents the University of Mississippi, also known as "Ole Miss". The Rebels compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
