Yakumo, Hokkaidō
is a List of towns in Japan, town in Oshima Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. As of September 2016, the town's population was estimated as 17,299, with a population density, density of 18 persons per km2. The total area is 955.98 km2. On October 1, 2005, the town of Kumaishi, Hokkaido, Kumaishi was merged into Yakumo; now in the newly created Futami District, Hokkaido, Futami District. The former town of Kumaishi joined Oshima Subprefecture at the same time. Geography Yakumo is the only municipality which faces both the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. was a village located in Yatsuka District, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. As of 2003, the village had an estimated population of 6,931 and a density of 123.77 persons per km². The total area was 56.00 km². Japanese Cruiser Yakumo
was an armored cruiser (''Sōkō jun'yōkan'') built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) in the late 1890s. As Japan lacked the industrial capacity to build such warships herself, the ship was built in Germany. She participated in most of the naval battles of the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–05, and was lightly damaged during the Battle of the Yellow Sea and the Battle of Tsushima. ''Yakumo'' saw no combat during World War I and began the first of many training cruises in 1917, although she was not officially reclassified as a training ship until 1931. Her last training cruise was in 1939, but the ship continued to conduct training in home waters throughout the Pacific War. ''Shinzo'', known as in Japan, is an anime television series produced by TV Asahi, Toei Advertising, and Toei Animation. The story takes place mostly in a Japanese high school and revolves around various love triangles and polygons. The manga series is followed by a short parallel world story, ''School Rumble Z''.
