Yahyalı
Yahyalı is a town and the southernmost district of Kayseri province in Turkey. The Aladağlar Mountains, a part of the rocky Taurus Mountains, pass through this region as does the River Zamantı. Mostly covered in forest, the Aladağlar National Park covers and extends into the neighbouring districts of Çamardı (Niğde Province) and Aladağ (Adana Province), although the main part is in Yahyalı. The nearest airport is Kayseri International Airport. History The district was established by Turkish forces led by Seyyid Ali and Yahya Ali (Yahya Gazi who came into Anatolia in the 13th century. The tomb of Seyyid Ali is in the garden of Yahyalı State Hospital while that of Yahya Gazi is in the courtyard of the Yahyalı Grand Mosque ( Turkish: Ulu Cami). Yahyalı was affiliated to Kozan until 1926 but became part of Kayseri province after Kozan province became a district in 1926. Arsenios The Cappadocian
Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian (Greek: Ὅσιος Ἀρσένιος ὁ Καππαδόκης; April 7, 1840 – November 10, 1924), born in Kephalochori, Cappadocia ( el, Κεφαλοχώρι) was a Greek dean and the spiritual father of Elder Paisios of Mount Athos. He had a brother named Vlasios. Life Arsenios's birth name was Theodorus Annitsalichos ( el, Θεόδωρος Αννητσαλήχος) and he was born in Kephalochori one of the six Christian villages of the region of Pharasa in Cappadocia and an early center of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. His father was a teacher. Both parents died when he was very young, and he and his brother were raised by a maternal aunt. He was sent to be educated in Niğde, where he stayed with a paternal aunt who was a teacher. She, in turn, arranged for him to stay with relatives in Smyrna, while he continued his education. The Kayseri Province ( tr, ) is situated in central Turkey. The population is 1,434,357 of which around 1,175,876 live in the city of Kayseri. It covers an area of 16,917 km2 and it borders with Sivas, Adana, Niğde, Kahramanmaraş, Yozgat and Nevşehir provinces. Kozan, Adana
Kozan (Turkish name), formerly Sis ( hy, Սիս), is a city in Adana Province, Turkey, northeast of Adana, in the northern section of the Çukurova plain. The city is the capital of the ilçe (district) of Kozan. The Kilgen River, a tributary of the Ceyhan, flows through Kozan and crosses the plain south into the Mediterranean.
