Yacambú National Park
The Yacambú National Park ( es, Parque nacional Yacambú) is a protected area with national park status in the South American country of Venezuela. It is located in the south of the Lara State, on the southern slope of the Portuguesa Mountain Range, which forms part of the mountain foothills of the Andes Mountains. It was created in 1962 with the purpose of protecting part of the Yacambú river basin, whose waters will feed the reservoir José María Ochoa Pilé, an ambitious project still under construction. The reservoir is of vital importance for water supply in the city of Barquisimeto and for economic development in the dry valleys of Quibor, where there is a protected area of sustainable use for agricultural purposes. It has a humid cloud forest vegetation in its highest parts, where trees such as bucare, araguaney and oak predominate. Lara State
Lara State ( es, Estado Lara, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. The state capital is Barquisimeto. Lara State covers a total surface area of and, in 2015, had a census population of 2,019,211. Barquisimeto
Barquisimeto (; guc, Watkisimeeta) is a city in Venezuela. It is the capital of the state of Lara and head of Iribarren Municipality. It is an important urban, industrial, commercial and transportation center of the country, recognized as the fourth-largest city by population and area in Venezuela after Caracas, Maracaibo and Valencia. ''Handroanthus chrysanthus'' (araguaney or yellow ipê), formerly classified as ''Tabebuia chrysantha'', also known as ''araguaney'' in Venezuela, as ''guayacán'' in Colombia, Panama, and Ecuador, as ''tajibo'' in Bolivia, and as ''ipê-amarelo'' in Brazil, is a native tree of the intertropical broadleaf deciduous forests of South America above the Tropic of Capricorn. Morrocoy National Park
Morrocoy National Park is located in the easternmost coast of Falcón state and northwestern of Golfo Triste, in the west central Venezuelan coast, near the towns of Boca de Aroa, Tucacas, Sanare, Chichiriviche, Flamenco and Tocuyo de la Costa, and consists of .
