Yvonne
Yvonne is a female given name. It is the feminine form of Yvon, which is derived from the French name Yves and Yvette. It is from the French word ''iv'', meaning "yew" (or tree). Since yew wood was used for bows, Ivo may have been an occupational name meaning "archer". Yvonne/Ivonne is also a Spanish girl name. This name first arrived in England with the Norman invasion, along with variations such as Yvette and male versions of the same name. It was the most popular of all of these names, but would fall out of favor. It was reintroduced into English-speaking countries in the early 20th century, when it was very popular. It is currently 173rd in the United States popular names list, but is an uncommon name in younger generations. It has also lost popularity in France, where in 1900 it was the 7th most popular name. It is a popular Protestant name in Northern Ireland. Yvonne has several name days: May 26 in Sweden and December 11th in Ireland and Scotland. People This is a ...

Yvonne (cow)
Yvonne was a brown-white cow who in 2011 escaped from her farmer in Mühldorf, Germany, attracting media attention as she hid in the woods for many weeks. Farmers, police, and animal-rights activists were unable to find or capture her. History Yvonne, born in 2005, lived as a dairy cow for a mountain farmer in the Liesertal valley in the Austrian Alps. Yvonne (musical)
''Yvonne'' is a musical comedy with a book and lyrics by Percy Greenbank and music by Jean Gilbert and Vernon Duke (at that time still using his birth name of Dukelsky). It was adapted by Greenbank from an Austrian musical of the same name. Some additional songs were written by the show's conductor, Arthur Wood. The story concerns an engaged young lady, Yvonne Savigny, the daughter of old professor who loves riotous gaiety. To avoid trouble, she impersonates an absent music hall star at the Scala Music Hall. A young man has fallen in love with Yvonne and disguises himself as a servant in her father's house. After various complications, Yvonne leaves her silly fiancé for the amorous suitor and all ends happily. ''Yvonne'' was first played in the British provinces before premiering at Daly's Theatre, London, in May 1926, directed by Herbert Mason and produced by the company originally created by impresario George Edwardes.Chapman, Gary"Yvonne: A musical comedy" Jazz Age Club, acce ...
