Yugoslavia At The 1984 Summer Olympics
Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Yugoslavia competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States which took place from 29 July to 12 August 1984. Yugoslav athletes had competed in every Summer Olympic Games since their official debut in 1920 Summer Olympics, 1920. The Yugoslav Olympic Committee (''JOK'') sent a delegation of 139 athletes, 105 men and 34 women, competing in 16 sports, down from 164 competitors in 1980 Summer Olympics, 1980. Due to the 1984 Summer Olympics boycott, Soviet-led boycott, Yugoslavia was one of only three Communist countries to take part at the Games, along with China at the 1984 Summer Olympics, China and Romania at the 1984 Summer Olympics, Romania. Yugoslavia left Los Angeles with a total of 18 Olympic medals (7 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze), finishing ninth in the overall medal standings, the best total in the history of Yugoslavia's participation in the Olympics. Yugoslav Olympic Committee
The Yugoslav Olympic Committee ( hr, Jugoslavenski olimpijski komitet; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Југословенски олимпијски комитет, Jugoslovenski olimpijski komitet, separator=" / "; sl, Jugoslovanski оlimpijski кomite; mk, Југословенски олимписки комитет, translit=Jugoslovenski olimpiski komitet) was the non-profit organization representing Yugoslav athletes in the International Olympic Committee. Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport in which gymnasts perform on a floor with an apparatus: hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon. The sport combines elements of gymnastics, dance and calisthenics; gymnasts must be strong, flexible, agile, dexterous and coordinated. Rhythmic gymnastics is governed by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), which first recognized it as a sport in 1963. Svetlana Anastasovska-Obućina (née Anastasovska, sr-cyrl, Светлана Анастасовска-Обућина, born April 26, 1961, in Belgrade) is a former Macedonian Team handball, handball player who competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics, in the 1984 Summer Olympics and in the 1988 Summer Olympics. The 1988 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XXIV Olympiad () and commonly known as Seoul 1988 ( ko, 서울 1988, Seoul Cheon gubaek palsip-pal), was an international multi-sport event held from 17 September to 2 October 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. 159 nations were represented at the games by a total of 8,391 athletes (6,197 men and 2,194 women). 237 events were held and 27,221 volunteers helped to prepare the Olympics. Ratko Rudić (born 7 June 1948 in Belgrade, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia) is a retired Croatian water polo coach and a former water polo player. , he has won 38 medals as a coach at major events, making him the most successful water polo coach in history, and second most successful team sport coach of all time. Double Scull
A double scull is a rowing boat used in the sport of competitive rowing. It is designed for two persons who propel the boat by sculling with two oars each, one in each hand. Racing boats (often called "shells") are long, narrow, and broadly semi-circular in cross-section in order to reduce drag to a minimum. They usually have a fin towards the rear, to help prevent roll and yaw.
