Yugoslavia Men's University Basketball Team
The Yugoslavia men's university basketball team ( sh, Univerzatetska košarkaška reprezentacija Jugoslavije) was the men's basketball team, administered by Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia, that represents Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the Summer Universiade men's basketball tournament. After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia in 1991, the successor countries all set up their own national university basketball teams. Competitive record Rosters New national teams After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia in 1991, five new countries were created: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, FR Yugoslavia (in 2003, renamed to Serbia and Montenegro) and Slovenia. In 2006, Montenegro became an independent nation and Serbia became the legal successor of Serbia and Montenegro. In 2008, Kosovo declared independence from Serbia and became a FIBA member in 2015. Ivica Dukan (born September 27, 1956), also known in the United States by his nickname Duke, is a Croatian basketball scout and former player who is currently the Director of International Scouting and Special Assistant to General Manager for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Playing career Dukan scored the first three-point field goal in the Yugoslav League after introduction this rule prior to the 1984–85 season. Zoran Prelević ( sr-cyr, Зоран Прелевић, born 27 December 1952) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career During his playing days, Prelević played for Radnički Belgrade, KK Vojvoda Stepa, KK Jasenica from Smederevska Palanka, and Šibenka. He retired as a player with Šibenka in 1985. ;Playing ban In 1981, Prelević did not get an apartment from Radnički he was supposed to get under the contract, so he refused to play.
