Yugoslavia Men's National Under-21 Basketball Team
The Yugoslavia men's national under-21 basketball team ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашка репрезентација Југославије до 21 годину) was the men's basketball team, administered by Basketball Federation of Serbia and Montenegro, that represented FR Yugoslavia (later Serbia and Montenegro) in international under-21 (under age 21) men's basketball competitions, consisted of the FIBA Under-21 World Championship (1993–2005). The event was originally referred to as the World Championship for Men '22 and Under'. Competitive record The FIBA Under-21 World Championship was a men's under age 21 basketball competition organized by FIBA. Serbia Men's National Basketball Team
The Serbia men's national basketball team ( sr, Кошаркашка репрезентација Србије, Košarkaška reprezentacija Srbije) represents Serbia in international basketball competition and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia is currently ranked sixth in the FIBA World Rankings. From 1992 to 2003, the national team played under the name of FR Yugoslavia and from 2003 to 2006, under the name of Serbia and Montenegro in international tournaments. Following the Montenegrin declaration of independence in 2006, Basketball Federation of Serbia retained the place of Basketball Federation of Serbia and Montenegro as a FIBA member. Velimir Gašić ( sr-cyr, Велимир Гашић; born 10 May 1964) is a Serbian professional basketball coach for Sloboda Užice of the Basketball League of Serbia. Early life Gašić was born in Aleksandrovac, SR Serbia, in 1964, but only a year later he moved to Rijeka, where his father get a job. He finished elementary and high school in Rijeka. earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rijeka in 1986, and he also studied at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. He first studied under professor Aleksandar Nikolić at the University of Belgrade, and then graduated in the University of Sarajevo in 1985, at the basketball department. Košarkaški klub FMP ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашки клуб ФMП), commonly referred to as KK FMP, was a men's professional basketball club based in Belgrade, Serbia. The club played its home games at the 3,000 capacity Železnik Hall and have won the regional ABA League twice, in the 2003–04 and 2005–06 seasons. In 2011, the club started cooperating with KK Crvena zvezda and competed under their name until 2015. In 2015, the club disbanded its senior team and changed the name to KK ILR Železnik. In 2013, Radnički FMP (formerly Radnički Novi Sad) adopted the name and the FMP logo, and renamed itself to KK FMP.
