Ysgol Maes Garmon
Ysgol Maes Garmon is an 11–18 mixed, Welsh-medium community secondary school and sixth form in Mold, Flintshire, Wales. It was established in 1961 and is the only Welsh-medium school in Flintshire. It shares some of its facilities with Alun School. Although Ysgol Maes Garmon is a Welsh-medium school, it welcomes pupils who cannot yet speak the Welsh language, running an immersion programme to help students from English-medium primary schools to learn Welsh. The school has been active in supporting Welsh-medium education. In 2016 a documentary, ''OMG: Ysgol Ni!'', was filmed at the school by S4C. Mold, Flintshire
Mold ( cy, Yr Wyddgrug) is a town and community in Flintshire, Wales, on the River Alyn. It is the county town and administrative seat of Flintshire County Council, as it was of Clwyd from 1974 to 1996. According to the 2011 UK Census, it had a population of 10,058. A 2019 estimate puts it at 10,123. Origin of the name The original Welsh-language place name, ''Yr Wyddgrug'' was recorded as ''Gythe Gruc'' in a document of 1280–1281, and means "The Mound of the Tomb/Sepulchre". Gareth Glyn
Gareth Glyn, born Gareth Glynne Davies (born 1951), is a Welsh composer and radio broadcaster. Life and education Born in Machynlleth, Wales, Glyn is the eldest son of the late Welsh poet T. Glynne Davies. He received his secondary education at Ysgol Maes Garmon in Mold, before attending Merton College, University of Oxford, 1969–72, studying music and specialising in composition. Compositions He has composed a wide range of musical pieces, including diverse vocal and orchestral work and music for television. Robert Joseph Roberts (born 15 October 1979) is a British Independent politician. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Delyn in North Wales since the 2019 general election. He was elected as a member of the Conservative Party. In 2020, Roberts reportedly sent sexually suggestive text messages to a female staff member which resulted in his being referred to the British House of Commons' Complaints and Standards Committee. Roberts was also investigated by the Conservative Party; in April 2021, Roberts was "strongly rebuked" by the Conservative Party for his conduct. Nia Jones
Nia Jones (born 6 April 1992) is an athlete who represents Wales internationally at both netball and football. She won the FAW Young Player of the Year Award in 2011. She was nominated for the SportingWales Magazine and UWIC Rising Star Award in 2013. Early and personal life Jones was born in Wrexham. Estyn
Estyn is the education and training inspectorate for Wales. Its name comes from the Welsh language verb ''estyn'' meaning "to reach (out), stretch or extend".
