Your Lie In April (musical)
''Your Lie in April'' is the musical theatre adaptation of Naoshi Arakawa's Kodansha manga, '' Your Lie in April''. The show features an original score by Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn, a Japanese book by Riko Sakaguchi, lyrics by Tracy Miller and Carly Robyn Green, and arrangements and orchestrations by Jason Howland. The show is a co-production between Toho Co. Ltd. and Fuji Television. After delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the show made its world premiere in May 2022 at the Nissay Theatre in Tokyo, directed by Ikko Ueda. The original Japanese cast featured Yuta Koseki and Tatsunari Kimura as ''Kosei Arima'' (double cast), Jpop singer Erika Ikuta as ''Kaori Miyazono,'' Fuka Yuzuki as ''Tsubaki Sawabe,'' and Koka Mizuta and Takuto Teranishi as ''Ryota Watari'' (double cast). Naoshi Arakawa
is a Japanese manga artist, known for his work ''Your Lie in April''. Early life Naoshi Arakawa grew up in the countryside of Japan with an older brother. They used to get manga magazines like ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' and ''Monthly Shōnen Magazine'' often, so he was exposed to manga from a young age. That, along with his love for ''Fist of the North Star'' and ''Kinnikuman'' was what ultimately made him decide to become a manga author. However, he elected not to tell anyone due to the conservative nature of his hometown and his shy personality. Career After getting advice from a friend at college, Naoshi Arakawa decided to enter for the Monthly Shōnen Magazine Grand Challenge. is a Japanese romantic drama manga series that was written and illustrated by Naoshi Arakawa, and has been adapted into an anime television series, a Your Lie in April (film), live-action movie, a light novel, and multiple stage productions. The manga was serialized in Kodansha's magazine ''Monthly Shōnen Magazine'' from April 2011 to February 2015. The story follows a young pianist named Kо̄sei Arima, who loses the ability to perform the piano after his mother's death, and his experiences after he meets violinist Kaori Miyazono. Frank Wildhorn
Frank Wildhorn (born November 29, 1958) is an American composer of both musicals and popular songs. His musical ''Jekyll & Hyde'' ran for four years on Broadway. He also wrote the #1 International hit song "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" for Whitney Houston. Early years Wildhorn was born in Harlem and spent his childhood in Queens before moving to Hollywood, Florida, at age 14. Soon after he taught himself how to play the piano, Wildhorn realized he wanted to compose music. During high school, he played in and wrote for various bands, ranging from rock and roll to Rhythm and blues to jazz. He attended Miami-Dade College for two years before transferring to the University of Southern California, where he studied history and philosophy. Jason Howland is a musical theatre composer, playwright, conductor, music director, and producer. In 2015, he won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for his work producing the cast recording of '' Beautiful: The Carole King Musical''.
