Dickey County, North Dakota
Dickey County is a county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,999. Its county seat is Ellendale. History The Dakota Territory legislature created Dickey County on March 5, 1881, with territories annexed from McPherson County, South Dakota and Ransom County, North Dakota, with some previously unorganized territories added. Its governing structure was effected on August 18, 1882. It was named for a member of the Territorial Legislature, George H. Dickey. Geography Dickey County lies on the south side of North Dakota. Its south boundary line abuts the north boundary line of the state of South Dakota. The James River flows south-southeasterly through the east part of the county, and the Maple River flows south-southeasterly through the center part of the county. Young Township is a township in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States. It was named after John Young, the first president judge of Indiana county. The population was 1,709 at the 2020 census. It includes the communities of Clarksburg, Coal Run (or Clune), Elders Ridge, Iselin, Jacksonville, McIntyre, Scotland, Watson's Ridge, and West Lebanon along with the "ghost towns" of Hart Town, Whiskey Run and Nesbitt Run. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 34.8 square miles (90.3 km2), of which 34.8 square miles (90.2 km2) is land and 0.03% is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 1,744 people, 741 households, and 489 families residing in the township. The population density was 50.1 people per square mile (19.3/km2). Young Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania
Young Township is a township in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,713 at the 2020 census. It was named for John Young, the pioneer judge of Westmoreland County. Young Township is the location of adjacent Punxsutawney's Groundhog Day celebration each February 2, during which thousands of attendees and international media outlets visit for an annual weather prediction by the groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. Although named for Punxsutawney, the actual prediction location, Gobbler's Knob, is in Young Township. Geography The township is located in southern Jefferson County and borders the borough of Punxsutawney on three sides. The southern boundary of the township is the Indiana County line. U.S. Route 119 passes through the southern part of the township, between Punxsutawney and the county line.
