"You Will You Won't" is a single by The Zutons The Zutons are an English indie rock band, formed in 2001 in Liverpool. The band are currently composed of singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave McCabe, drummer Sean Payne and saxophonist Abi Harding. They released their debut album, '' Who Ki .... It is the second single from their debut album '' Who Killed...... The Zutons?''. The single peaked at #22 in the UK singles charts. The song is distinguished by the strident, catchy refrain which happens to serve as its title. The video contains a sequence involving unusual lighting effects with decidedly comic results. The Zutons
The Zutons are an English indie rock band, formed in 2001 in Liverpool. The band are currently composed of singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave McCabe, drummer Sean Payne and saxophonist Abi Harding. They released their debut album, '' Who Killed...... The Zutons?'' in May 2004 and achieved chart success with " Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?" and "Valerie", both taken from their second studio album ''Tired of Hanging Around'' in 2006. Both singles reached number 9 in the UK Singles Chart. The band quietly disbanded in 2009, several months after they released the third studio album, '' You Can Do Anything'' in June 2008, with no official announcement. They ultimately reunited in September 2016 for a one-off show billed as "probably helast ever" in remembrance of their friend, actor and former Tramp Attack frontman Kristian Ealey. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Deltasonic
Deltasonic is a British record label based in Liverpool, England. Previously joint ventured with Sony Music, it is now totally independent. It was formed by Alan Wills, the former drummer with Liverpool bands Shack and Top, and associated with the ' cosmic Scouse' and 'scallydelica' music scenes. History Aiming to be like Mo'Wax, Wills started his first label EVA in January 2000, primarily to release material by Joe Fearon a.k.a. Paracruzar. However, after three promo-only releases on clear 10-inch vinyl, including the first release by 'Mountaineers' (credited on the record as 'The Sandpeople'), he decided to move on to new areas and, with the help of his partner Ann Heston and consultancy from Simon Duffy (Tri Tone), he started a new label called Deltasonic Records. Dave McCabe
David Alan McCabe (born 3 January 1981) is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist, the frontman of The Zutons and a former member of Tramp Attack. History McCabe was a member of Liverpool band Tramp Attack with Brookside actor Kristian Ealey. The band released their debut single "Rocky Hangover" in 2001, before McCabe left to form The Zutons. The band released 3 albums, before quietly disbanding in 2008. In 2008, McCabe collaborated with singer-songwriter Thea Gilmore on the song "Old Soul", which appeared on the album ''Liejacker''. In 2010, McCabe co-wrote the Mark Ronson single The Bike Song, which appeared on the producers 2010 album ''Record Collection''. In 2012, McCabe provided vocals along with the likes of Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams to The Justice Collective Hillsborough charity single, a cover version of "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother". Ian Broudie
Ian Zachary Broudie (born 4 August 1958) is an English musician and singer-songwriter from Liverpool. After emerging from the post-punk scene in Liverpool in the late 1970s as a member of Big in Japan, Broudie went on to produce albums (sometimes under the name Kingbird) for artists including Echo & the Bunnymen, the Fall, the Coral, the Zutons and the Subways. Around 1989, he began writing and recording under the name Lightning Seeds, releasing the album ''Cloudcuckooland'' through Rough Trade on the independent label Ghetto Records, eventually putting together a live touring band in 1994. The Lightning Seeds achieved great commercial success during much of the 1990s. In 2004, Broudie released an album titled ''Tales Told'' under his own name. "Pressure Point" is a song by The Zutons. It was the first single to be released from their debut album '' Who Killed...... The Zutons?''. During the music video, a number of chaotic incidents occur around the musicians, including a hanging dress, a cat and its milk, the flow of the milk, and the billboard. At the end, the billboard collapses, making it look like the musicians are dead, but they still sing and tap their feet. The music video was used in the PSP demo disk, the single was featured in several Levi's commercials in 2004 and 2005, and in the EA Sports video game MVP Baseball 2005.
