"You Wear It Well" is a song recorded by DeBarge for the Gordy label. It was released as the third single off their fourth album, '' Rhythm of the Night''; the single release was credited to "El DeBarge with DeBarge." The song eventually reached number 7 on the ''Billboard'' R&B chart, number 47 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. DeBarge was an American musical recording group composed of several members of the DeBarge family. In addition to various solo projects completed by members of the family, DeBarge was active between 1979 and 1989. The group originally consisted of El DeBarge, El, Mark DeBarge, Mark, Randy DeBarge, Randy, and Bunny DeBarge, Bunny. James DeBarge, James joined the group a year later for their second album. Bobby DeBarge, Bobby and Chico DeBarge, Chico joined in 1987 and 1988 respectively, replacing Bunny and El. DeBarge released six studio albums, four of them with Motown subsidiary Gordy Records. The DeBarge family is a family of rhythm and blues artists from Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1975, Bobby left Grand Rapids to start the funk-soul band, Switch (Tommy later joined the band), which first went by the moniker, First Class. Eventually signing with Motown Records in 1978, the group's debut album, yielding the hit "There'll Never Be," sold over one million copies and started the DeBarge musical dynasty. Jesse Woods Johnson (born June 1, 1960) is an American musician best known as the guitarist in the original lineup of The Time (more recently known as the Original 7ven). Life and career Johnson was born in Rock Island, Illinois. He moved to East St. Louis, Illinois at the age of nine and was raised by foster parents after his parents split up. At age 16 he moved back to Rock Island to live with his father Jackwood Johnson.
