"You Don't Know" is a song by American band Berlin, which was released in 1986 as the third single from their fourth studio album ''Count Three & Pray''. It was written by John Crawford and produced by Andy Richards, Bob Ezrin and Berlin. It reached No. 39 in the UK and No. 16 in Belgium. "You Don't Know" was recorded in London. Recalling the initial recording of ''Count Three & Pray'', Nunn said in a 2014 interview for ''Pop Entertainment'': "It was so bad with this guy in England that we trashed the whole thing. I think we kept one song, "You Don't Know," that he had done. We started all over with Bob Ezrin." A music video was filmed to promote the single, which gained breakout rotation on MTV. Berlin is an American new wave band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. The band gained commercial success in the 1980s with singles including " The Metro", " Sex (I'm A...)", "No More Words" and the chart-topping "Take My Breath Away" from the 1986 film ''Top Gun'', which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. Osamu Kitajima (喜多嶋 修), also known by the pseudonym Justin Heathcliff, is a Japanese musician, producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. History After studying the classical guitar and the piano as a child, in the 1960s Kitajima was a member of his cousin Yūzō Kayama's band The Launchers. After graduating from Keio University, and already a successful composer of TV and advertising jingles, he moved for one year to the UK in 1971, which brought him in to contact with British folk and psychedelic rock. Inspired in particular by The Beatles, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Syd Barrett, he dubbed himself as 'Justin Heathcliff' (picked for its English-sounding quality) and issued his lone eponymous album. was a Japanese American flutist and musician, known for his mastery of the bamboo flute, specifically the shakuhachi. Yoshizawa also mastered several other traditional Japanese flutes, in addition to other Japanese and Western musical instruments. "Like Flames" is a song by American band Berlin, released in 1986 as the lead single from their third studio album, ''Count Three & Pray'' (1986). Background Berlin worked with Canadian producer Bob Ezrin on the album. The producer, best known for his work with Alice Cooper and Kiss, gave the record a radically different 1980s pop-rock guitar sound than Berlin's previous releases, which had a more new wave/synth-pop sound. Berlin singer Terri Nunn and their label, Geffen Records, were approving of the change of sound, but it did not sit well with founding member John Crawford and drummer Rob Brill, who wrote the song.
