You're The Only One (Maria Mena Song)
"You're the Only One" is a song by Norwegian pop musician Maria Mena. The song was included on her second studio album, '' Mellow'' (as well as the international version, ''White Turns Blue''), and was released as the album's first single in early 2004. In addition to becoming a number-eight hit in her native Norway, it was Mena's breakthrough hit internationally, charting within the top 40 in Denmark, the Netherlands and New Zealand. It was also her first single released in the United States, where it rose to number 86 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Lyrical content A DVD included with the deluxe edition of ''White Turns Blue'' contains an interview with Mena. Maria Viktoria Mena (born 19 February 1986) is a Norwegian pop singer, best known for her singles such as " You're the Only One", "Just Hold Me", "All This Time" which charted in multiple countries. Early life Maria Mena was born into an artistic family. Her father is a drummer. There was a common misconception that her mother is a playwright, but Mena debunked this in an interview. Both Maria and her brother, Tony, are named after characters from Leonard Bernstein's ''West Side Story''. Her mother is Norwegian and her father is an American of Afro-Nicaraguan descent. A maxi single or maxi-single (sometimes abbreviated to MCD or CDM) is a music single release with more than the usual two tracks of an A-side song and a B-side song. The first maxi singles Mungo Jerry's first single, "In the Summertime" was the first maxi single in the world. The term came into wide use in the 1970s, where it usually referred to 7-inch vinyl singles featuring one track on the A-side and two on the B-side. Gunnar Eide (11 May 1920 – 2 July 2012) was a Norwegian actor, theatre director and impresario. He was born in Stavanger. He was the theatre director of Stavanger Teater from 1945 to 1947, then an actor at Rogaland Teater from 1953 to 1955 and 1956 to 1960, only interrupted by a period at Edderkoppen Teater from 1955 to 1956. Fredrik Wallumrød (born 21 September 1973 in Kongsberg, Norway) is a Norwegian drummer and composer, known for his collaborations with musicians like Karl Seglem, Trygve Seim, Solveig Slettahjell, Jarle Bernhoft, Lene Marlin, Maria Mena, and the band Span. He is the younger brother of the pianist Christian Wallumrød, older brother of the singer Susanna Wallumrød, and cousin to the pianist David Wallumrød.
