Roy Buchanan
Leroy "Roy" Buchanan (September 23, 1939 – August 14, 1988) was an American guitarist and blues musician. A pioneer of the Telecaster sound, Buchanan worked as a sideman and as a solo artist, with two gold albums early in his career and two later solo albums that made it to the ''Billboard'' chart. He never achieved stardom, but is considered a highly influential guitar player. ''Guitar Player'' praised him as having one of the "50 Greatest Tones of All Time." He appeared on the PBS music program ''Austin City Limits'' in 1977 (season 2). Luther Ronzoni Vandross Jr. (April 20, 1951 – July 1, 2005) was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Down By The River (Neil Young Song)
"Down by the River" is a song composed by Neil Young. It was first released on his 1969 album with Crazy Horse, ''Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere''. Young explained the context of the story in the liner notes of his 1977 anthology album ''Decade'', stating that he wrote "Down by the River," "Cinnamon Girl" and "Cowgirl in the Sand" while delirious in bed in Topanga Canyon with a fever. Lyrics and music The lyrics tell the story of someone who killed his lover by shooting her after feeling unable to continue from the emotional highs of their relationship. Young himself has provided multiple explanations for the lyrics. In an interview with Robert Greenfield in 1970, a year after the song was released, Young claimed that "there's no real murder in it. It's about blowing your thing with a chick. It's a plea, a desperate cry." "Turn to Stone" is a 1972 song by the American singer-songwriter Joe Walsh and his band Barnstorm, with writing credits given to Terry Trabandt, and Walsh. The song was originally released on the album '' Barnstorm''. Walsh later covered the song on his 1974 solo album ''So What'', and released it as a single.
