"You're Beautiful" is a song by English singer-songwriter James Blunt. It was written by Blunt, Sacha Skarbek and Amanda Ghost for Blunt's debut album, '' Back to Bedlam'' (2004). It was released as the third single of the album in 2005. In the United Kingdom and Australia, the song reached number one and number two respectively. When released in Canada and the United States, it reached number one on both charts and received widespread airplay. In 2006, the song won an Ivor Novello Award for airplay. The song has sold 625,000 copies in the U.K. as stated by the Official Charts Company, and by October 2012 over three million in the U.S., where it remains Blunt's biggest hit single to date, and his only one to reach the top 40 of the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100. "The Last Farewell" is a song by the British folk singer Roger Whittaker (music and vocals on the original recording) and Ron A. Webster (poem and lyrics). Whittaker hosted a radio programme in the United Kingdom, backed by an orchestra with arrangements by Zack Lawrence. Roger Whittaker said, "One of the ideas I had was to invite listeners to send their poems or lyrics to me and I would make songs out of them. We got a million replies, and I did one each week for 26 weeks." Ron Arthur Webster (1944ā1994), a silversmith from Solihull Birmingham, England, sent Roger Whittaker his poem entitled "The Last Farewell", and this song became one of the selections to appear on the radio programme. Matthew Hoffman (born July 25, 1979) is an American public artist and designer based in Chicago. He is known for You Are Beautiful, an art project that ranges from stickers to large-scale public sculptures. Early life Matthew Hoffman was born in Rockford, Ohio. In 2001, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Ball State University. Career You Are Beautiful Hoffman refers to himself as the "custodian" of the You Are Beautiful Project, which began in 2002 as a street art sticker campaign with 100 stickers he distributed to friends, who placed them in public spaces around the world.
